“Christina sketched it,” Tina said quietly. “The caption says that she did it on July 20, 1986…the day after you left.”

“Guys, there’s more,” Alice took a large magnifying glass from her enormous tote bag and zoomed on the picture. “There’s inscription.”

They all moved closer and at the bottom of the sketch there was inscription, ‘To the love of my life: remember me in that wonderful future of yours…if only I had the courage to go with you.’

“What did you tell her?” Tina asked.

Bette sighed, “I told her pretty much everything. I told her about the future, about you and why I had to go back.” She took Tina’s hand and kissed it. “T…you know that I love you. I don’t know why she would do this or write this…”

“Bette, it’s okay. I know you love me and I’m not jealous,“ Tina smiled. “You can’t help it if all the girls fall in love with you.”

Bette’s face turned pink and she smiled back, ”I only want one girl to be in love with me and it’s you.”

“And you always have that,” Tina gave Bette a slight kiss on her lips.

“Guys, concentrate,” Alice rolled her eyes. “This is damaging if anyone involved would get their hands on this. The past keeps changing and there’s no way to know what else is different, unless we stumble upon it.”

Tina sighed. She gently touched the sketch with her fingertips. “Christina was a good artist, and she genuinely loved you.”

Bette nodded, “In her way, she did, but she knew it would never worked between us. Even if I’d never came to the future, there was no future for us in our past.”

Alice rubbed her temples and groaned, “This is so confusing and mind-numbing. I feel like the other shoe is about to drop and I’m running out of plans.”

“One thing to consider,” Tina said. “We need to get our story straight about Bette’s being away for three months. The Geneva trip was a good excuse but what if someone starts digging and asking more questions? We need to be prepared.”

“Good thinking, Tee,” Alice slapped her head. “I totally forgot about it, but never fear. I thought about it before and I have a plan for this. One of my exes…waaaaay before Dana…works as the IT admin support manager at the American Airlines. I’m pretty sure I can convince her to fudge some records and get us the proof that Bette flew to Geneva and just got back.”
