Out of Closet (TiBette time-travel romance), Ch. 68, Finale part 4B Chapter: Last curtain – The End Is Almost Here
“Kit Porter,” Bette nodded. “She found a letter from my mother, confronted our father and, despite his protests and indifference, she looked me up and brought me here.”
“The Kit Porter, the famous singer in the ‘80s, is your half-sister?” Agent McKinnon sounded impressed.
Bette nodded and smiled, “Kit would be so pleased to know that there is still someone who refers to her as The Kit Porter and famous in the same sentence.”
Agent McKinnon laughed. “My mom was a big fan and I grew up listening to her music.”
Bette tilted her head to the side and asked, “That makes you what, thirty two…thirty three?”
“I’m thirty five actually.”
“You look much younger.”
Agent McKinnon blushed. “Well, thank you.”
“Ahem,” Agent Johnson growled impatiently.
Agent McKinnon shoot him a look that would probably disintegrated him on a spot if it was a laser. “You were saying?” She turned back to Bette. Bette wasn’t sure if the female agent referred to the mild flirting or the interrogation but she decided not to push further.
“Oh yes, back to the question. When I was thirteen, my adoptive parents died in a car accident. I went back to foster care for a while until I was old enough to be on my own. Kit found me and brought me to America to be with my real family.” Bette closed her eyes for a moment to gather her thoughts.
Agent Johnson rolled his eyes and mumbled something under his breath. Bette could only make out ‘sobbing story’ but she wasn’t going to say anything. It was their show and she just wanted it to be over.
“When did you came to America for the first time?” Agent McKinnon seemed to ignore her partner’s attitude.
“Last October.”
“Hmm, that’s very recent. What, you just came here and already got a family, a job and a mansion?” Agent Johnson asked sarcastically.
“What are you implying, Agent Johnson?” Bette asked calmly. “That I’m some sort of a gold digger? That I’m an imposter and I weaseled my way into Kit Porter’s family?”
“Well…no…um…” Agent Johnson was at loss for words for a moment.
“I do consider myself lucky to find a place where I belong, a family and a partner who loves me unconditionally. It does not make me a gold digger or a drug trafficker.”

Thank you for continue your story!
So, Bette interview went good, right? Interesting what they want from Alice.
Waiting for the next part!
I am beginning to think that this Finale will be a further 68 Chapters !!!
Notwithstanding thank you for posting, I cannot stop the smile of delight which crosses my face when I see a post
Any point in saying, ‘please post soon’
SG
Thanks for the update…. nice chapter…. so here we go with Alice and a few questions. If we just knew what the other team knew and what they were guessing at, we might come up with a strategy to get them off the trail. I think the FBI is going to laugh about the possibility of time travel. Helena will then look like a fool and maybe life will proceed in a normal fashion…
I really want to see where this ends up…. write and publish as soon as you can.
Helena just don’t want to let go, don’t she?
Well let’s see what future holds for Bette and Tina.
