Out of sync
After James leaves she takes a deep breath and heads to the conference room to meet with Candace. They discuss plans for the exhibit but are more focused on each other than the blueprints they have spread out on the conference room table before them. It doesn’t help that Candace is wearing a skin tight V-neck t-shirt with buttons that barely hold closed over her ample breast and cleavage. Bette’s eyes can’t help but wander. She looks away then up at the ceiling trying very hard to maintain professional decorum.

A while later Bette is back in her office and Candace knocks on the door.
Candace: I have the estimate for you.
Bette looks over the paperwork and glances up at Candace
Bette: This is $50 more than the highest bidder.
Candace: May I?
She takes the pad from Bette and draws a triangle.
Candace: Have you seen this before? There are three sides to the triangle. Fast, Cheap, Good. You can have any two of three in combination but never all three.
Bette: Of course you can. If you have enough money… Oh right then it wouldn’t be cheap.
Candace: You can have fast and good but that takes a big crew of highly skilled highly paid workers. You can have fast and cheap…
Bette: but then the end product will probably look like shit
Candace: You can have cheap and good
Bette: That’s the one I want
Candace: But you’ll probably be bumping up against that carpenter for the better part of a year.
Candace says “bumping up” suggestively; the double meaning implicit. Bette gets a little flustered. It’s getting harder to keep it all business with Candace flirting so openly and leaning down to show more cleavage.
Bette: Oh oh OK
Candace: Are you here for a little while longer because I love that Cuban place up the street from here. I can pick us up some take-out and bring it back. I’ll draw you some rough sketches of what I’m thinking while we eat.
Bette looks uncertain. She knew she was in trouble but agrees anyway.
Bette: OK
Candace: Good. I’ll put the order in. You look at that while I’m gone.

BAT I’m with you so far…..please have a better version than what I saw……
Dee22 – if you haven’t read this story before you’re in for a ride. It will be very different from what we saw on the show. That’s a promise. Stay with me.
So glad you are going to change it. Thanks, enjoyed it
Thank you. Changes are coming soon.
Still here and looking forward to your ‘spin’ on the story :)
Thanks as always for the post.
SassyGran thanks for sticking with the story. There will be a few surprises on the way.
This story makes me sad, i will read it but it is so hard. As a true Tibetter i think it is better that they break up and try to find them selves. Bette made one big mistake and she paid dearly for that.
But Tina is not the innocent poor woman, she is one evil bitch who destroyed Bette with her behaviour.
Ugh, i hate season three! !! But i will stick around.
Bibi28 – I know it’s hard. I won’t be reliving S3 for too much longer. The story will take a turn in a few chapters. Thanks for sticking with me.
Really hated Tina in S3 and how she threatened Bette and I know that I also do not like her at the beginning of your story. Granted Bette cheated but she paid for it and let Tina walk all over her and humiliate her in public. Tina for her part, in my opinion, didn’t take any responsibility for the failure of their relationship and as it wasn’t bad enough that she dated Helena Peabody now she is working for her and helps her to invade herself with their friends. At least Bette is aware of the fact that she should not let Tina treat her like she does any longer and that she has to put herself together without Tina’s help. So looking forward to your next post, and thank you so much for posting this exceptional story.
as1219. I’m so glad to see you reading and commenting on this story. You were an integral part of it when I originally posted. I totally agree about how Tina treated Bette. Bette’s affair was a betrayal but Tina’s revenge was evil. She did everything in her power to break Bette and almost succeeded. As you know I can’t abide a broken Bette. She’s going to come back better than ever. :-)
BETTE should have been the happiest woman in WE-HO but HELENA/TINA made her look like a fool.TINA kept the screws in BETTE until that cybersex hic-cup and now alpha BETTE is loose.TINA needs to feel safe again but she goes overboard in this season.pps thanks
dunnthat – So true. I hated that Bette allowed herself to be so manipulated by Tina and Helena and later by Jodi. I think that’s why I always write a very strong Bette, but her heart is her character and you can’t get away from that. Thanks for sticking with the story. If you haven’t read it before I think you will enjoy the ride once we get over these hurdles.
