Pieces Of Time – Chapter XV

”Probably why Rachel can’t make it out of bed.” I chuckle.

I look back at the door again awaiting her presence.

    —-

My body and mind can’t begin to explain the hate I feel for myself at this moment. My biggest problem in life is not being able to stop myself in situations that would affect other people. It’s like my body never bothered to care. I would always brush off my feelings even though deep inside somewhere, the guilt ate me alive. But I could never manage to bring that person out, the worse always risen and pushed the right decisions to the side without care.

I carry myself around the lobby until I see Rachel appear from the corner. I quickly turn but stop dead in my tracks.

Our eyes meet and we both freeze.

    ”Shane.”

I hear her call my name.

I make my way quickly towards her and pull her to the side. ”You cannot and I mean can not, tell anyone about this. For our sake and most importantly, Bette.”

I sigh. ”That woman is my very best friend and I have betrayed that beyond words. So I need you to just keep your mouth shut about last night, ok?” I beg.

    She stands there in silence.

”Rachel, do you promise me?” I beg again. ”Let’s not ruin this trip for everyone.”

    She nods.

    ”Yes.” Her response is faint.

    ”Alright.” I nod. ”Ok.”

    ”Shane, this wasn’t your fault.”

”It was the both of us.” I confess. ”It was the drug.”

    ”No, Shane.”

”Let’s not blame this on anyone.” I respond. ”Can we please just keep this quiet?”

She nods at me and I then slowly turn to walk away.

    —-

My emotions shake with Shane’s words, I feel as if I can destroy so much in such little time if last night slips free from my mouth. But I bite my tongue and listen to Shane.

”Hey sleepyhead.” I see Bette standing to greet me as I make my presence towards the table.

”So sorry I missed this guys.” I say looking around.

”Don’t worry about it love.” The British accent spills across the room. ”There is still plenty of food left, grab a plate and fill yourself a plate full.”

    1. I am very excited that you found time to update this incredible story.

So Daniëlle made her decision and took off without saying goodby, she is such a coward. She didn’t deserve Tina, but i feel sorry for her.

How will Tina react as Bette stop with caring for her, it didn’t sound very nice.

Rachel and Shane must confess to Bette what happened, the truth will come out , it always does and she will be devastated.

I am still hopeful that Bette and Tina will reconcile.
