    Pieces of Time, Chapter V

“We talked about what is to come, I think we should make the decision.”

We stand in silence as it fills the room.

No words to be spoken. Just the sound of heavy breathing.

“I’m tired.” Tina says moving her hands from her face to her waist. “So sick and tired.” She sighs. “I just want the fighting to stop.”

“I want it to stop too.” I speak softly looking in Tina’s direction. “We agreed this was the right thing to do.” I speak again.

“I guess we can’t keep living like this. The kids shouldn’t have to grow up in a home that is just filled with anger.” Tina says to me with a gentle voice.

I can feel the words bounce off mine and her heart like a hammer.

“This isn’t a happy home anymore.” Tina lefts her head to look towards me and then her body crashes. She begins to sob and sob.

“We agreed on this Tina.” I say as tears begin to fall in my eyes. “I love you Tina, I’m just not happy. And I know you aren’t either.”

“Is there no other options?” She asks.

“We’ve tried, Tina.” I say. “But nothing changed, nothing worked. And you know this.”

I can see her nod in the hardest agreement.

“When was the last time we haven’t been stressed and angry? I clearly can’t remember.”

“Then it is official.” Tina says.

“We have to move on. For us and for the kids.” I speak.

“This is going to destroy them, Bette.”

“I know.” I say. “I know.” I repeat. “But we are going to help them get through this as much as we can.”

“We promised we wouldn’t do this again.” She says looking at me.

“I know we did.” I speak while my voice begins to crack as I’m trying to stop the sobbing from happening. “But we both know this would be best.” I sigh. “Everyday it is a constant battle. Argument after argument. It’s either about working late, the kids, or the money. It is too much to handle. We have tried Tina, we tried to stop. But we simply couldn’t do it. And we both know it is like a battlefield here in this house. Our kids deserve to live in a happy environment.”

    1. Thanks for the update!

And thanks for the backflash. It was a mutual and wise decision they took, there should be love and laughter in the house, not the fighting all the time. But my Tibette heart is still sad.

I don’t understand why they decided that Tina stayed at home and stopped working. That didn’t work out the first time around when they tried for a baby.

They will always be their only true loves and Rachel and Danielle seems nice, but you promised that you are a Tibetter so i will sit out the ride back to each other.

      5 stars from me!

    2. You are an amazing writer. I have read a lot of stories in my life time, I am 71 and I find you one of the best. I am looking forward to your book. Your story “the eternal rocks beneath” will always be my favorite. Keep uptake good work, you are really good. Selma

    3. Ok I’m all caught up now ready for the next chapter…I have a feeling they are going to slip if they where left alone in the right moment. Yes they fault before but Tina is back to work and Bette seems to have lots more time to Date take care of kids and money because now she is renting an apartment. so many things have changed since they split. thank you love the story,
