    “I met this new artist purposefully….at Milk…the night…the night you were sick. I know, I know, Hon. Please listen. We saw her work at that art fair we went to, remember? You said it was imaginative and raw. She does this work with pipes and colors that…”

    “I remember, Tee…but what in the world were you thinking…the last thing we need is… “
    “Let me tell the whole story, Baby…please” Tina interrupted. She wasn’t sure if Bette was upset with her or not and it made her anxious. She wrung her hands together and sipped more wine.

    “I wanted to meet her to hire her to work on the set because, honestly, I wanted to get back at Jodie…for hurting you… for humiliating you. She’s good, this artist and she just needs help getting started. Wait, please Bette. That day I came and worked in your office and we had lunch, remember…right before you got sick?”

    Bette nodded slowly.

    “Well we lost our lead artist that day and I knew then that the studio would go after Jodie. She is well known in the circuit and this is all metal work, right up her alley you know? I…I couldn’t, I didn’t want that to happen, not after the way she treated you.”

    Bette nodded again, a frown crossing her face and she reached for the wine glass to take a sip.
    “So, I went to Milk and I met Elena and we…helped her. We helped her get herself together. We helped her clean up. Shane and Alice. But the studio, they hired Jodie anyway, behind my back…when I was home with you. But I pushed and added Elena on as an assistant. They will work together. Today I found out that Elena thinks Jodie stole an idea from her and Jodie…she was cheating on you, Bette…not just with Amy…she…”

    “Stop. Tee. Stop”. Bette waved her hand and closed her eyes for a second then handed Tina the wine glass.

    Bette looked at Tina, the frown deepening on her face. Tina was surprised to see hurt in her eyes. “We made a promise to each other Tina. When we agreed to get back together, remember? We promised to talk to each other, to confide in each other and seek each other out when we were struggling… And…I…I have been working really hard to keep that promise”.

      I am so proud that they are talking about their feelings and how Bette expressed her hurt to Tina. She was so right that they have to share and trust each other so that nobody can hurt them and try to come in between them.

      I love your writing style!!!

    3. Fantastic !!! and yeah that’s true, I found season 6 a little botched, with more questions than answers and that’s why I’m infuriated at the thought of the new show, we’ll never get the answers !

      • Sorry to hear you have had a rough time of late, hopefully you are on the other side of what ever is going on! Thank you for your kind words (again) and for loving this story. I agree that Bette was always more tender, and open about her feelings and Tina was more reserved on the show. I am hoping to show that Tina still needs some work in this area, but that she is finally trying. I cherish their relationship too and hope we can all experience something close to this in our own lives…..
        Look for the next chapter Friday, assuming I can get my work done this week. It is written but I proofread obsessively and often change the story on the final read through….
