    They entered the house quietly. Tina went to the kitchen to get the wine, settling on a chilled bottle of chardonnay that was a favorite of both. Getting one large glass for them to share and filling a bowl with popcorn, she found Bette already dressed in her pajamas and setting up the couch with

    They entered the house quietly. Tina went to the kitchen to get the wine, settling on a chilled bottle of chardonnay that was a favorite of both. Getting one large glass for them to share and filling a bowl with popcorn, she found Bette already dressed in her pajamas and setting up the couch with pillows and a soft blanket. The window was open wide enough to let in a cool breeze and she had lit some candles. Another time this would have been a romantic, intimate setting that invited the two lovers to explore and re-discover each other.

    Tonight, however, it created a different type of intimacy. It was inviting and safe, warm and cozy. The kind of place you collapsed into and shared with your best friend. Only Bette, with her creativity and artistry could instantly make a setting so appealing. Tina kissed her softly, their lips lingering on each other and she licked along the inside of Bette’s upper lip before heading to the bedroom to change into her pajamas. Bette smelled so good and tasted better. The taste of Bette’s lips stayed on her own as she changed.

    When she came back, Bette had poured the wine and placed the bottle to chill in a small bucket. She was comfortably leaning on the back of the couch, her legs tucked under her and the blanket across her lap. Tina climbed in and sat close her, taking the other end of the blanket and covering her lap to move her legs to tangle in with Bette’s. Bette protested, “your toes are cold Tee,” she admonished playfully, chuckling. “They are like ice!”

    “Your hot body will have them toasty soon enough” Tina replied lifting her eyebrows and taking a long sip from the wine glass. She looked at her wife. Bette was sitting comfortably, her hair tied up in a loose bun on the top of her head and several curls dangling down invitingly. She was soft, warm and adorable looking and Tina swallowed. Bette nodded slightly and smiled at Tina. Go on her smile said, I am listening.

    “I had a meeting today, Baby. A difficult meeting. A meeting…with Jodie Lerner…wait please…and a new artist we are hiring temporarily to help build a set…no…. hold on, before you say anything…. please hear me out”, she started quickly. Bette was looking at her curiously, this was not what she expected.

      I am so proud that they are talking about their feelings and how Bette expressed her hurt to Tina. She was so right that they have to share and trust each other so that nobody can hurt them and try to come in between them.

      I love your writing style!!!

    3. Fantastic !!! and yeah that’s true, I found season 6 a little botched, with more questions than answers and that’s why I’m infuriated at the thought of the new show, we’ll never get the answers !

      • Sorry to hear you have had a rough time of late, hopefully you are on the other side of what ever is going on! Thank you for your kind words (again) and for loving this story. I agree that Bette was always more tender, and open about her feelings and Tina was more reserved on the show. I am hoping to show that Tina still needs some work in this area, but that she is finally trying. I cherish their relationship too and hope we can all experience something close to this in our own lives…..
        Look for the next chapter Friday, assuming I can get my work done this week. It is written but I proofread obsessively and often change the story on the final read through….
