    S. O. (Esss Ohhh)

She tried again. “Did you feel it get hot around here as Jay showed us around her café?”

    Silence.

“Anyway, d’you hear me earlier? I said Kate texted about Tuesday night, and whether we had any plans?”

    “Kate texted?” Finally.

“Yeah, like I said forever ago, while you were clocking our sexy-beautiful host?”

Tina snapped her head sideways then.

An irritated look crossed the blonde’s face. “What’d she text again?”

“Tuesday night? Our plans out here? Can we ditch those no-happenin’ plans and jet back to LA? She’s got a huge-ass party and it will be a cluster-fuck scene if we don’t help her out ‘coz Amber’s ditched her at the last minute for a meeting in London.”

“Tell her we’re going gay on Tuesday night, like she’s been daring us to since forever. How’s that for a happenin’ night?”

    “Wh-a-a-t-t-t?”

Rachel tossed a balled-up paper napkin at the pensive blonde. “You didn’t just make a joke about our lezzie friend, did ya?”

    “’Course not.”

They overheard Lena, Jay’s friend who was also the mom of one of the girls helping Jay out in the café, call out from the door as she left that her assistant had called and needed her to return to the office. Tina had picked up on a vibe earlier, when they’d all introduced themselves to one another, between the café owner and Lena, and hadn’t had a chance yet to check with Rachel if she’d picked up on the same thing.

Thinking about that vibe she’d sensed earlier made her irritated now, for some reason. The blonde pulled her phone out of the sack-shaped bag she’d tossed on the chair next to her, wondering about what had thrown her about meeting Jay, and the vibe from Lena. I was sooo looking forward to this, too, since Rachel sold us on this Montana locale, plus Jay and her café, and now I’m weirdly out of sorts! She tapped on her phone to wake it up. She muttered as she scrolled down her messages, “I dare you to text that back to her, Rach.”

“There’s no way I can text her that!”

Tina was about to retort, but their conversation was interrupted by someone who’d stood up from a neighboring table. She shook her head quickly at something he’d whispered. “No, tell Scott there won’t be any turning back from this. William’s totally against keeping that guy in this movie. We’re re-shooting those scenes here with our replacement Oscar-winner, period. No more debates about this!”

    1. Thanks for the chapter!
Great to see new part of the story.

And Tina – this is Bette! You just need to jump on her and Oh wait, you just almost did it:)

    2. Just had to say that I was so happy to see a new chapter to this story! Love your attention to detail and YES to more teasing from those two.

      Thanks for posting!

    3. So great to have a new chapter, thanks ever so much. Always wonderful to read about their love blossoming, and right now it is on a rampage. Yay!!!!! Tina will get all her stuff together, take care of her children and tell henry to go straight to hades and beyond. He is too much of a d–k to tell her he wants out, just not much of a man, his mother had already told her so. Tina should have listened to her and run like hell. I think he has already found someone to keep him warm at night, whether it is Stockholm or New York. Good riddance to him, he’s not worth piss. She needs Bette in her life for a love that is total and complete and when the children are there they will look like a truly complete family. Can hardly wait for all this to unfold. Thanks again for posting.

      • Speaking of Stockholm, for some reason, I thought you’d appreciate the following one liner from Ken Dodd (RIP):
“Just read a book about Stockholm Syndrome. It started off badly, but by the end I really liked it…”

        Side-splitting ????

Not picking on Swedish friends and readers out there, of course.

Thanks for commenting. Now let me get a pot for H to p*ss in, bec that’s all he deserves, right?

    4. Welcome back skydancer!

I missed you and your story!

They met and bonded immediatley, there was a instant connection.

Henry is a asshole and it wouldn’t surprise me if he is cheating around Tina’s back. Dump him and start a family with Bette.

It is clear that Lena is history as possible lover, but i do hope she will continue to be a friend for Bette.

Fantastic update, please don’t let us wait too long for the next chapter!

      • I hadn’t and i doubt about possibility of this.

That’s why i always be sceptical about IC version friendship between Bette and Alice in TLW and that Alice truly cared about B&T relationship.

    5. Hi Z, yes, it has been a long time. I’ve had the next few chapters in draft, but haven’t had time to finish them. Meanwhile, a few things happened IRL, so life sucked for a while, and I wasn’t writing anything. Then a new story wormed its way into my head, in a way I couldn’t ignore so I’ve been writing that one out. May post that sooner than the next chapter for this one, and I hope you’ll like it.

Take good care, in the meantime!

    6. Oh no, it’s been 3 1/2 years since the last entry. Please don’t tell me that COVID-19 impacted your writing.

I love this new/different story line!! When TJ arrives the intersection with Bette (Jay) will just add more and more to the story.

And, don’t forget the LA airport lounge conversation that Bette heard period to her departure. Another line of this great story!

      Please write/publish more, PLEASE!
