    Seemingly Lost Chptr. 16

“No, no you weren’t rude trust I’ve had worst. Well I can sit somewhere else if there’s going to be a prob…”

“No please it would be my pleasure for y’all to be my last customers, do you mind if I join y’all for lunch, I ain’t got nothin’ to do after I punch out.” the young girl’s face was so eager and excited that Bette couldn’t turn her down besides she could use the distraction for a while.

“Sure, I’d love the company.” she saw the questioning look on her face and said “Tina’s already at Miah’s house I’m going there to meet her.”

“Oh well let me grab your lunch and take off this apron and I’ll join you.” with that she was off into the kitchen and from what Bette could hear she made sure they didn’t burn her chicken for the salad and that her sweet tea was ice cold. It made Bette feel a little special and it made her smile. She remembered a sweet little girl with braces following her and Tina around like they were Gods and being so scared to swing by herself, it was all so cute. Before she looked up again there she was sitting across from her and there was a giant salad in front of her and a pitcher of sweet tea with two glasses of ice on the table.

“I’d wait a while before adding the chicken it’s still a little hot. So what have you been up to since the last time y’all were here? I remember Tina talking about how things were taking off for her business and you were still making songs and stuff.”

“Well actually Raine I’m just the producer I help the artist make there own music, I just bring it to life with them.”

“That’s so cool. I remember thinking that you Tina had to be the coolest people on the planet. There was something about you guys that y’all just seemed different from everybody around here, I just thought that was so cool.” the young girl’s uncanny ability to speak freely made Bette blush and laugh a little. “In my head I had it as Tina being a big time executive in front of this big long table people she bossed around and you were this big time music artist from Hollywood partying with every musician, the land of stars.” she laughed at her own naiveté.

    1. I am so happy to see this story back. I’m glad Tina’ family is sympathetic to Bette’ plight. She knows she hurt Tina badly, but she was trying to save her from an even greater hurt. I hope they get to talk without a lot of yelling. I really love this story and hope you continue to write it to the and I can’t wait to read the next chapter even sporadic posts are better than none at all. Keep writing please.
