This was the first time for the young Fairbanks to participate in the summer program in MIT; his mother sent him there whit the hopes that Howie could follow in the footsteps of her sister Dana, who is an undergrad student with major in PE and minor in finance.

Since the first day of the summer program, Howie felt conflicted or rather attracted for his mentor James; but this one was oblivious of his presence, because he had other issues in his mind, one of them was the current situation of his friend Coleman, who has revealed to him his homosexuality, and was suffering acute depression, fearing his family and friends reaction, especially his father, who has strong homophobic ideas.

James didn’t notice the teenager standing close to him most of the time, or asking weird questions, even waiting for him when he was busy with other highs school student.  Alice observed Howie’s behavior, she has studied his relationship with other boys and her gaydar told her the teen was a blossoming queer, and James was the object of his attention; the blonde smiled to herself, who could think, the lonely James, always going along with his lesbians friends to bars and disco-clubs, unable to find the man of his dreams, now he has an admirer, this is something she will tell her friends that evening.

Alice: “I bet you can’t guess who has a stalker?”

Shane: “hmm…, what kind of stalker?”

Carmen: “how many types of stalkers are?”

Shane: “I think, the good ones and the bad ones”

Tina: “good stalkers? How is that?”

Alice: “hey…, I made a question, who can answer?”

Frankie: “what I get if I guess right?”

Bette: “tell me first…, the stalker is a boy or a girl?”

Alice: “boy”

Everybody was silent

Bette: “hmm…, James?”

Alice: “exactly, one of the high school students is drooling for him”

Bette: “that is bad…, too bad…, how James reacted?”

Alice: “he didn’t notice the chap”

Shane: “shit…, someone has to tell him”

Tina: “how couldn’t he notice the boy?”

Bette: “baby, you have no idea how naïve is James”     

Frankie: “yup, very naïve, he got his heart broken so many times because of that”

Carmen: “really?”

Shane: “unfortunately, he is the romantic type of gay…, he thinks all the boys approaching him want something else than…”
