Maura: (approaching) “it’s fine, you saved Coleman… and all of us in some way”

Jane: “well…, the files are gone”

Bette: “the ones in Tina’s tablet”

Tina: “did you make copies?”

Jane: “shit…, I don’t want to hear anything…; you all are on your own”

Maura: “aren’t you coming with us, Jane?”

Jane: “no, I have a teleconference with NYPD about the kidnapping”

Maura: “my regards to Oliv”

Jane’s flushed faced smiled at her wife and pointing with her finger toward her, she said.

Jane: “we talk later…”

Maura, Tina, Bette, and James left the station, heading to the safe house to keep working on the case from their computers.

Manhattan, NY, same day 3:00 p.m.

New York Police Department

After the shooting in the parking lot of the Javits Convention Center, the national meeting was suspended until next day. A big troop of police took control of the buildings and a yellow tape was set surrounding the crime scene to facilitate the police investigation.

The police station is crowded with the presence of many scholars giving their statements about the recent events to the police. Detective Olivia Benson is with Shane and Carmen in her office, she informed them that they received information provided by an anonymous source that alerts them about the kidnapping of her and another scientist. Oliv asked them if they thought about someone who may be responsible for the deed especially someone among their families or friends. The answer was negative, but the scholars asked for protection which was granted for few days but additional security will require the service of a private company.

In another office, Jodi was interrogated about Kelly’s abduction, with similar questions about the source of suspicion. Jodi didn’t know who would want to harm Kelly but she promised to call the police if she hears or learn something new.

Everybody was sad and concerned, but who was really desperate and crying inconsolably, was Marina. There was no reason for anybody to take Jenny, and eventually, she discovered that the attack on her girlfriend was a mistake. The police were investigating and their great hope was to interrogate the assailant who was in intensive care in the hospital at Midtown, and under strong police surveillance.
