“And yet, you shot her.”
“In the gluteus maximus, so I don’t nick her artery. I had to, Jodi Lerner was threatening her and I couldn’t get a clean shot.”
Morris had to ask to make sure. Well this was unheard of. “You killed Lerner to save Tina Kennard.”
“What happened next?” Shane was immensely interested.
Bette told them about dying from Jorge’s gun, then she was pulled out from the rubbles and fled with Tito Ruiz. The man found her a doctor, who fixed her the best he could with a gun pointed at his head. And they drove to Iowa.
“Why did you trespass the Irish territory?” Nobody had figured out this detail.
“Distraction. For all they knew, ‘Vincent’ was the traitor. So I baited them away.”
“So it’s also to protect Tina Kennard.”
There was a few minutes in an absence of any sounds, four pairs of eyes trained on the brunette who seemed to be weighing her words. Then she replied, “and avoid a genocide. If they so much as lay a finger on her, I’d kill them all.”
The venom in her voice came as a great shock to everyone but Carmen. She somehow understood, that Bette would not allow another person she loved be taken away from her, no matter what she had to do, what she had to go through.
Tina was excluded from the questioning. She got a call from a furious Phyllis Kroll, who not only heard the little shenanigan from the bureau, but also from national security.
“You’re pushing it too far, Kennard,” Kroll fumed into the phone, “to the point it’s punishable.”
And she didn’t know what came across her, Tina answered, “Ma’am, I’m sorry to cause the trouble, but I resign.” Before Kroll could gasp and berate her more, she hung up, and watched in concern as the four agents left the room for a brief discussion.
Shane was first to speak, “Agent, you heard her, it’s not just about herself. Helena Peabody, Cindi, and even the warden would be targets if Jacob knows the assassin wasn’t successful.”
“She should’ve never forged her own death.” Morris argued, his attitude not soften upon obtaining every single piece of the story Bette just gave them.

I don’t actually know how the agencies work in the US, I just looked them up in wikipedia and bullshitted a lot. Anything to bring the two back together, ya know?
Shout out to Bibi, pikiangelica, dunn, wkm, tanishaa, lip, and all the other silent viewers. You’re the reason I keep writing. I’m thankful that you stuck with this story during the darkest time and bumpy roads lol. From now on, it’s gonna be a pretty smooth ride.

Well I have something to say, I’m mad at you Robyn because this story is not supposed to end yet… I want more.. I love this story, it’s great and different and great and yeah really great… So I’m not ready for the last chapter.. I want sappy but I also want more… And if we have to have a last chapter please make it with lots and lots of loving-NC-17 type loving and very very long with lots of cute sappy moments and great conversations.. And information on what happens to other key players…

Well HELENA is a good guy after all. TINA was right to call him on this and defend BETTE.YEAH you got the agencies right all about self and not about sacrifices of the one doing the work.now let’s really get these two off by themselves so the healing can begin and thanks for posting.

This was a great chapter, loved the way Tina is there supporting her woman.
Wonderful chapter. This has been areal nail biter for me, I can’t wait to see what happens next for these two. Maybe you could even do a little something special for Helena for helping Bette out. The feds are trying to take all of Bette’ money but I’m sure she probable has some stashed so she and Tina can start their new lives without having to worry about being poor. PPS :)
