Something so right – chapter 155

“It wasn’t too good for me “ Bette replied “And rubbish for Ti “

    “Sorry

    – tactless thing for me to say “

“Its okay – so – tell me what is he like ?”

    “He’s nice

    – I like him. He didn’t try too hard with me – he cares for mom and she is genuinely happy “

“What about the homophobia – that is worrying Tina “

“As I said – don’t think he is. I took it on myself to take him to one side and have a chat”

    Bette couldn’t help herself

    – she laughed and suppressed it when Finn raised an eyebrow at her

    “Sorry Finn

    – its just the thought of you coming the concerned son – did you ask him what his intentions were towards your mom ?”

“I am going off you Porter “

Bette laughed “I think its very sweet that you are so concerned “

    “Well

    – I just wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to make my mom cry like my idiot dad has. I told him that mom just adores Tina and really wouldn’t like it if the two of you felt you couldn’t visit because of him”

    “And ?”

“I think he was very hurt by what happened in his marriage and it came out as homophobia”

“You believe that ?” Bette was concerned how Tina would react if there was any display of disapproval from her mom’s new man. They had been lucky in that aside from a couple of half heard asides they hadn’t had to face any blatant examples of homophobia.

“Yes – if he wants to make things work with mom he is going to have to make friends with her kids “

    “Even the drug dealer ?”

“I am not so sure that we will be seeing much of her – it will eventually get through her thick skull that she has utterly messed her life up… anyway – Jon is crazy about mom and I pointed out to him that she comes with a package and the package includes me, the drug dealer daughter and the gay studio executive daughter with the rich future wife”

    1. Hey AllyE, I do love the big hairy giant that Finnbar is. It was wonderful to read that Bette was on the mend and that Tina finally let out all of the worried, anxiety, and fear she had been holding on to. It was not healthly but now the gals are slowly getting back to their lives. Finn really is a big softie, challenging Jonathan over his homophobia and his intentions. Just so adorable. Bette and Finn have a real brother/sister vibe going on. It is special as Bette never had that kind of relationship growing up. Willow has really messed up and being left to get on with it. I do understand Finn’s question re an invite to the wedding. I whole heartedly agree with Tina’s decision no to invite her sister. Their day should be one of love and joy, not snide comments and loose cannons. i can’t wait to read more. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
