“Can they get away with that? I mean just walk away from Shaolin-Peabody and take the project to another studio?” Bette asked, trying to understand the motive.
“That in Hollywood is how you know that you’ve been fired.” Tina answered showing more hurt than anger at the betrayal.
“That is some fucking nerve, huh?” Bette was incensed at how Tina’s industry operated. “Hollywood is so tacky.”
“I know, it’s what I hate most about this business but unfortunately money talks. For their sake I hope the agreement with Skyline isn’t predicated on riding on Kate’s coattails. That puts them in a very precarious position. The repercussions could be far greater when they realize too late that they are in bed with the devil. I really can’t believe her audacity.”
“She’ll get what’s coming to her Tee. I promise you.” Bette walked over to where Tina was sitting at the dressing table brushing out her hair. She bent and wrapped her arms around Tina’s shoulder taking in the intoxicating scent of her freshly washed hair and sweet perfumed skin.
With their faces leveled, Tina looked at their reflection in the mirror and couldn’t help but notice what a stunning pair they made. Their contrasting skin tones, straight blonde hair against rich brown curls, hazel green eyes looking into almost black orbs; the depths of which seemed endless. Bette looked so serious that it made Tina smile at the image of her warrior princess ready to do battle for her. “Babe I appreciate all your help. You’ve just been amazing. I don’t think I would have made it through that wrap party without you, but you can’t make that promise.”
“I know baby but you can’t do this alone.” It wasn’t just Bette’s protective nature, but also the injustice of it all that made her blood boil.
“I’m not. Believe me I’ve learned my lesson. I know I made a huge mistake isolating myself and especially shutting you out. I promise I won’t ever do that again, but baby this is my fight. I have to see it through to the end.”
“I understand.” Bette conceded.

After the long separation this was not the conversation that Tina would have chosen for the first morning where they’d been together in months. When she’d opened her eyes as the sun was barely peeking through the horizon she’d unwrapped her sweetly sore body from Bette’s and gotten out of bed without waking her.

Welcome back!! So William is in on the deal with Kate and Eric. It amazes me when the rich get so greedy that they risk all their fortunes for a few dollars more. Well it appears that Bette and Tina have the goods on the short egomaniacs and they are about to go down. Thanks for reuniting the lovers. Tina now realizes what love has to do with it. Hopefully she speak aloud her proposal to Bette. PPS
majicspider60 I just had to comment on your statement ‘Tina now realizes what love has to do with it.” It’s exactly what I was going for. I didn’t have Tina verbalize the proposal or much of what she was expressing in her thoughts because they have a bit of work to do towards that end, but she’s certainly made the leap to be on the same page as Bette. Sharing her values, understanding how monumental trust is to a relationship, and wanting the same things; unconditional love (not sex) being the bridge to get them there. Thank you.

Hey Bat, sorry for commenting so late on your wonderful chapter, but somehow time seems to fly at the moment. So William definitely is as it seems an active part in this theft. Wondering how long Kate is already involved in this and why she would do it. If I remember correctly Tina at one time mentioned her to be an up and coming director. Anyway I am sure you will connect all the dots for me in your next chapters. Glad to see Tina finally is on the same page as Bette so there is nothing going to come between them in the near future – and hopefully a lot longer. Looking forward to your next post.
