“Not too bad under the circumstances. I thought he’d be livid about the prospect of losing millions without the film’s release but he was more intrigued with the investigation. I told him that Trevor’s people were following a solid lead on Eric. I also mentioned Tasha Williams keeping close tabs on Kate, and the other investigators digging into William’s background. He was most impressed by how you’ve taken charge.”

“He doesn’t think I’ve overstepped involving Trevor and his people?” Bette asked not really concerned if he did. Max knew her well enough to know she’d do everything in her power to protect her loved ones.

“Not at all. He’s very relieved to know that you and Alex are here with me.” Tina answered. “He knows I’m safe and no harm will come to me.”

“Not on my watch and that is a promise I can keep.” Bette stated as fact.

“I also told him about your suggestion. He’s behind me wholeheartedly on the game plan to trap Aaron and Kate with their own deception.” Tina continued. “He wants to be video-conferenced into the meeting so he can see and hear everything first hand. He’s assured me that I would have the entire legal team at my disposal though he doesn’t think I have anything to worry about. The most they can accuse me of is making some bad judgment calls, but I’ve done nothing wrong.”

“That goes without saying Tee.” Bette responded not at all surprised at Max’s reaction. She’d known him for far longer than Tina. He wasn’t one for hysterics. He was thoughtful and thorough. He was a good man to have your back. As the Director of the Peabody Foundation for Cultural Initiatives he not only had Peggy’s trust but the Peabody billions behind him. The perpetrators of this crime would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

“He is worried about publicity though. He’s concerned that maybe one of the lab workers will leak the story to the tabloids or one of those exploitative cable channels to say nothing of bloggers, twitters and every other social media outlet. Things like this can go viral.”

Tina was relieved that unlike Aaron Max had no doubt of her veracity but he was a businessman. If Tina was held liable for the theft even falsely, regardless of the outcome the publicity could be detrimental. Their legal team would be charged with mitigating the events to minimize exposure both financially and to protect Shaolin-Peabody’s reputation.

    2. However long it takes you to finish this incredible story, i will be there.

I am glad that they reconnected on a lot of levels.

      Thanks for the update!

    3. Welcome back!! So William is in on the deal with Kate and Eric. It amazes me when the rich get so greedy that they risk all their fortunes for a few dollars more. Well it appears that Bette and Tina have the goods on the short egomaniacs and they are about to go down. Thanks for reuniting the lovers. Tina now realizes what love has to do with it. Hopefully she speak aloud her proposal to Bette. PPS

      • majicspider60 I just had to comment on your statement ‘Tina now realizes what love has to do with it.” It’s exactly what I was going for. I didn’t have Tina verbalize the proposal or much of what she was expressing in her thoughts because they have a bit of work to do towards that end, but she’s certainly made the leap to be on the same page as Bette. Sharing her values, understanding how monumental trust is to a relationship, and wanting the same things; unconditional love (not sex) being the bridge to get them there. Thank you.

    4. Our Bat! worth waiting for these days for this update.
And I mean to read this NC 17 was a real colirio
in my eyes, Bette and Tina connected heart and soul forever,
and that was masterfully described in this chapter.
It was a perfect chapter from start to finish.
      The complete constellation.

    5. Hey Bat, sorry for commenting so late on your wonderful chapter, but somehow time seems to fly at the moment. So William definitely is as it seems an active part in this theft. Wondering how long Kate is already involved in this and why she would do it. If I remember correctly Tina at one time mentioned her to be an up and coming director. Anyway I am sure you will connect all the dots for me in your next chapters. Glad to see Tina finally is on the same page as Bette so there is nothing going to come between them in the near future – and hopefully a lot longer. Looking forward to your next post.
