    Soul Mates – Chapter 2

Tina’s mother shook her head with a smile and placed a hand on Tina’s cheek.

"Oh sweetie, you didn’t have to put off your weddin’ plannin’ for us. A phone call would have been fine, not that I’m not lovin’ this visit. You’ve made me and your daddy so happy"

Tina let out a relieved breath and smiled. She didn’t exactly lie to her mom, the fashion show bit was true. Tina just didn’t feel the need to voice the fact that the show would be done long before the wedding.

Oh God what was she becoming? Bette was right all those years ago. Tina used to lie often when she was younger, whether it was to spend more time with Bette or just to get out of a tight squeeze. One day she had gotten into some trouble with the Sheriff and she had to lie something fierce to get out of it. Bette watched her from a distance with amusement as she shook her head, calling the blonde Tinnoccio for the rest of the day.

Tina smiled at the memory, her mother’s voice rousing her from her thoughts.

"You saw Bette today, didn’t you?"

Tina blinked and gave her mother a surprised look, "What? What makes you say that?"

Her mother pursed her lips, "You have that look in your eye"

Tina’s eyebrows lowered as thought about the face she was making, her mother sighed.

"Baby, I don’t think I need to tell you about that woman"

Far from wanting to hear anything negative about Bette, Tina lifted a hand.

"Momma, don’t worry it wasn’t like that"

Her mother sighed again, "I hope not. Bette’s not a bad person, she’s really not but at the same time-"

"Momma" Tina said cutting her off. She definitely didn’t want to hear anything negative about Bette.

Tina’s mother held up her hands in surrender and let out an exasperated sigh. Normally she wouldn’t have given up so easy, always eager to try and convince her daughter there was so much better for her out there in the world. She wanted Tina to be able to live a comfortable life, away from Alabama. With Helena, Tina had that so she let the subject drop.

    1. Hey doll!!!! Awesome update as usual. I’m happy to read that you’re using other villains from the show. I couldn’t stand Adele the most. Maybe Adele could have a part-time job as a poop-scooper for a pig farm or something. Anyway, I wasnt confused by anything. I am like that dog who is just happy to see you when you get home regardless of whether you’re screaming at them to get away. Attention to happiness 😍 thanks Liah!!! Have fun at your quin-I don’t know how to spell it. Make sure you dance with Jane 😝

    2. Hey, despite your long and pretty frequent posts, its never enough for me! I’ve checked a few times today to see if you have posted the next chapter, but alas, not yet…please don’t leave me hanging long. Love the premise and the way you write them. Great story telling, with very believable characters. Lots more please. x

    3. More power to Bette for seeing her “old” Tina in the “new” one, cuz I’d be runnin’ for the hills to get away from her. Yeesh. (Never saw the movie, but I know the premise from friends who did.) You’re making it an entertainingly bumpy ride!

    4. +Loved the chapter. Damn, they still love and want each other very much. Tina knopws she wants Bette and not Helena. Hell, she cringes every time Helena touches her. What more does she need to convince her? To hell with what her parents want, the heart wants what it wants. And that is Bette. Whatever happened to the board they had shells on, did Bette keep it? Thanks for posting.

    5. By some strange coincidence on the day that you posted this chapter, I was at the library returning some dvds and hadn’t planned on getting any to take, but just out of curiousity went down the aisles to see what was on display. And what did I see front and center? You got it, “Sweet Home Alabama.” Since you first posted your story I’d been wanting to watch the movie again. Thx for this latest…I’m curious to find out what you have B doing that’s earned her SO much money!
