    Owning up to your mistakes is tough, getting caught in a lie is just plain awkward.

    Tina tried to ignore the dull feeling clinging to her heart as she left the post office and headed to Bette’s. She knocked on the door several times but no one answered, she sighed heavily figuring that Bette probably didn’t want to see her. Maybe she really had messed things up far beyond any hope of repair.

    Just as she was getting ready to leave, she heard some commotion coming from behind the house followed by James barking. She curiously walked around back and saw Bette sitting on a wooden deck, staring out at the lake and skipping stones. Tina leaned against the house with a very soft smile on her face. Bette would often do that very same thing after a fight between her and Tina. She used to say that the water calmed her . . and also that it made her smile because she could easily imagine throwing Tina in for picking a fight in the first place.

    Tina couldn’t help but chuckle softly and shake her head. Bette had such a warped sense of humor sometimes. The blonde’s smile soon faded as she remembered what had happened the previous night. Taking a deep breath, she willed one leg in front of the other and made her way to Bette.

    Bette had her body slightly twisted to the side, trying to take James’ toy bone from him when she saw Tina approach. She stood frozen in place, not really knowing what to say. Tina offered a soft, apologetic smile as Bette finally found some words to say.

    "Thought you woulda been on your way back home by now" She said as she turned back to face the water, trying to contain her happiness that the blonde chose to stay.

    Tina wanted to talk to Bette about what happened between them the night before but she figured first things first.

    "I put the money back in your account"

    "Thanks, I appreciate it" She said as she turned around to see Tina crouched and petting James who was happily handing over his toy bone "Now I can pay off those loan sharks and you don’t have to worry about becomin’ a widow"

First of all, so sorry for your loss but pleased that writing helps you feels better and we reap the benefits with your wonderful stories.I wish i was disciplined enough to not read your chapters when you post them, but wait until i can read the whole story as one block. But i’m not that person, so just jump to read your story as soon as i find your new chapters! Please post soon and hope you continue to feel better in the days to come. x

    8. So sorry for your loss, just remember the good times. The story is really wonderful and you are pacing it just fine. You did however leave us hangin’ just a little and I understand but, still I wanted just a bit more. Wish they would admit to wanting each other again and never having stopped loving each other. helena should have contacted Tina before announcing the engagement, that was totally unfair. But in the end helena will have egg on her face, at least I hope. Thanks for taking the time to post while in mourning, it is really appreciated.
