    Author Notes: It has been seven months since I last posted and so much has happened for me personally. I wanted if there was still interest in this story, then I got a message from ladyHawke and Westy and knew it was time to post. Thank you, too Billy for your encouragement. I am sorry for the wait, I am sorry for the length, but this story deserved a lengthy chapter. Let me know if you liked it.
    Summary:
    Bette struggles in the aftermath of the battle, Tina catches her.

    “Look! There are our children, Mother…” Bette gushed pointing and Maxine could not take her eyes off the sight of the little children and the eagerness of their mothers to be on land with them.

    “They are fantastic,” she said softly and that made Tina cry even harder, this reunion so layered, so needed.

    As soon as the rowboat beached, they were out, the waves splashing on their legs, Bette holding Tina’s hand so she wouldn’t fall, Rowan already coming towards them, yelling.

    He was so big! His hair was in his eyes, the water now up to his waist and behind him Peter and Gracie waited… Ella waving a chubby fist from her perch in the arms of Sister Elise.

    And it was just that one word, one word out of all the many that would follow, one specific, delicious word said over and over that held Bette’s heart in a tight, possessive vicelike grip… “Mama! Mama! Mama!”, her eyes welling with unshed tears as she watched her wife, her beautiful, kind, sweet sweet wife go to her knees in the sand, not minding the kiss of the waves on her skirt or the sand on her feet, arms spread wide to take all four of her children in, squeals, screams, hugs and all. Tina didn’t think she would ever let them out of her sight again.

    Something large and insistent settled into Bette’s heart as she watched her family then helped Maxine onto the sand, something that took up all the space previously reserved for the hurt of her childhood and suddenly she felt like she could breathe again. Breathe in the sound of childish laughter, voices all speaking at once, and Tina’s soft words to frame it all.

    It took some time to restore some semblance of order, bags loaded to horses, Bette the center of it all as she fielded endless questions from the boys… did you beat the King, where is your sword, can you see how tall I am now… did you know I can ride a real horse and how many sharks did you see in the waters. She answered each and every one of their questions… yes, but it was Mama Tee who beat the King, my sword is on the horse, I do see how tall you are and I saw one thousand million sharks… even as she agreed with Gracie that her kitten Buttercup was so soft and sweet and yes of course they should spend the whole day tomorrow at the river making sure no trolls lived under the bridge.

I just saw everyone on Twitter breaking down because there was an update I had also messaged you on Twitter a while ago showing so much love so I’m so happy this has been updated I check everyday for this and the remember who you are sequel the journey your fics take me on it really feels like I’m there watching it all unfold you truly are one of my favourite writers I always reread your fics over and over especially while waiting for updates they truly make me so happy and leave me waiting for more so thank you I hope you won’t be gone so long anymore but I do hope that everything is going okay but you’re very much loved by the tibette community and you’ve been very missed not just by me but everyone I always see people asking where you are and if you’re okay you’ve been so missed and everyone especially me loves a lengthy chapter it’s incredible thank you for coming back I think we all would have been devastated if you didn’t come back and continue with this fic and remember who you are you’ve taken us to these places with you and it’s the best feeling so I’m so happy you’re back and continuing and I know everyone else would feel the same way because you’re always missed and being asked about and I hope that you will always come back

      I absolutely love how Bette and Tina are in tune with each other, how Tina knows how to take care and handle when Bette struggles and feel uncertainty about her feelings. With care, strength, compassionate words and lots of love Tina is there for Bette.

      Tina and their kids are the most important for Bette and she will always protect them. She would willingly give her life for them.

      I hope Maxine and Bette will develop a good relationship, Bette took a first step to reach out and beckoning Maxine to them to enjoy a family moment.

      Such a beautiful story.

    9. What a beautiful chapter! Every time I hear “Crispy” I think of sweet Dana. Then the nod to the next gen proposal “one could argue but one would not would they” Thank you for saving Bette’s mom and Tina. The reunion on the beach was so sweet. Thank you for the update! It was worth the wait.

      What an update! Perhaps the best one yet, I have probably said that before…but wow. This chapter had everything

      “the whole epic story” That’s what this story is. It’s a GREAT adventure story, it’s a love story, Bette and her mother, Bette & Tina and their children & friends – I loved Shane telling Bette they would come find her – and Bette & Tina.

      My favorite part, and there were so many, lol – ‘And raucous abandon suddenly, wildly, transformed into sweet intimacy, as it always was with them. Fast and furious passion now a poem on the wind, tears prickling at hazel eyes as Tina dissolved, completely lost to the woman above her.’ PERFECT

      And the ending, made me cry.

      • Hi Westy! The ending was emotional, and it is hard for me to leave this story to be honest. There are many directions it could take from here, I will need to think on continuing or letting a good story end when it is time :) You and other readers who respond motivate me to keep writing these stories.     15. Magnificent ending. The plan to shorten the reunion with the children . . . and then when alas, they laid eyes on one another . . . Mama, Mama, Mama!!!!

      And then the game of 1000 questions and even more as the Moms, especially Bette, tried to quickly satisfy their gleeful exhuberance. Pure, UNadulturated J O Y.

    16. Wow, that was a great chapter. I don’t know how I missed it when it was posted, but I’m so glad I finally found it. I knew that little jerk was going to get his. He should have known better than to threaten our captain with possible harm to Tina. And I am so glad that the children have been reunited with their moms. Bette has been given the opportunity to have a new relationship with her mom, I hope she takes it. She needs to talk as well as listen so they both get the whole story without assuming anything. Bette knows the kind of man Melvin was, Maxine may have had to leave in order to save her own life. He certainly would not have allowed her to take his children with her. They were worth too much to him. He did imprison and try to force Bette to get married so he could gain more wealth. Even though he knew she did not care for men in that way. I’m so happy you are back with us. Hope we can expect a new chapter of RWYA soon.

I was going to ask you if you were going to add anymore to this story and Remember Who You Are – A Return to the River today when I decided to check again. This is an amazing story and I’m so glad you updated it. You’re an amazing writer and these are the stories I always come back to when I’m missing this couple.
