    “Very Well. Mrs. Peabody may I prepare something for you now?”

    “Bette have you had breakfast? Can we offer you anything?”

    “I did have breakfast thank you, but I wouldn’t mind another cup of coffee.”

    “Douglas why don’t you set up a coffee tray in my study. We will be there in just a few moments.”

    “It will be my pleasure. Mrs. Kennard-Porter it was very nice to meet you.”

    “Same here Douglas. Thank you.”

    “Let’s go through here and I’ll show you the outdoor kitchen. I know how much you love to grill so you will enjoy this area with the BBQ grill and stove. We also have a fridge, dishwasher, icemaker and wet bar out here. If you walk around the other side of the house you will see the tennis court, basketball court, and volleyball court set up. Of course, we have the ocean for swimming and water sports, but we also have this wonderful vanishing edge pool and spa. I’ve installed a music system throughout the property so our guest can enjoy music regardless of where they are inside or outdoors.

    As they are walking Peggy comes across the Grounds Keeper and introduces Bette once again as her daughter.

    “Bette this is Manuel. He takes good care of the property. He will be on hand to help with preparing any of the equipment you might need for the water sports activities. We keep everything in storage until we need it.”

    “Mrs. Kennard-Porter. It is my pleasure. I am always available to assist.”

    “Thank you, Manuel. It’s nice to meet you. I’m sure we will be using several of the water toys for the party.”

    “I will take everything out and inspect them to make sure they are in perfect condition for you Mam.”

    “Thank you, Manuel.”

    “My pleasure.” Manuel tips his hat and gets back to his duties.

    “OK this is the end of the tour. We can enter my study through the patio doors. Martha is the only other staff member that I keep on permanently. She is the housekeeper. She is out running errands, but you will get to meet her later. I have a Nanny on call for Wilson and Jang Yin, but we only use her periodically. I like to spend as much time with them as possible when I have them with me. No need bringing them across the country just to leave them in the care of a virtual stranger is there?”

    1. Okay, so Helena is in prison and may get out in two years. Peggy still has not told Bette and Tina exactly what is in the will but has intimated that they will get a significant portion of her estate. Of course Winnie will probably get a significant portion as well. So how will Helena support herself? I’m sure she has no job skills and with a criminal record, she is going to find employment difficult. The way she has treated people in the past, its going to be difficult for her to develop any kind of permanent relationship. Helena’s life is not going to be easy in the future. Of course, there is always a chance that Helena will see the error of her ways and change her life. But I do not see this with this Helena.

      This is the first time Angie has been in a situation where she was not the oldest child nor was she the center of attention. And it appears that at the center, she and Wilson and Jang Yin were all put in separate groups. So Angie did not carry the roll of leader of pack. This is a new experience for her and I wonder how she will respond to it. Hopefully she will respond positively.

      Love how Bette and Peggy interact together. I just hope that Peggy will take some time to interact with Tina on her own as well. Although Peggy has a favorable impression of Tina, she needs to know Tina and see the qualities she brings to the relationship with Bette and to forge her own relationship with Tina as an individual.

      Now, I cannot believe that Bette is going to give up on being the bumper car champion. Bette really is maturing in a responsible parent. Sometime you win more if you just let it go and acknowledge you cannot win them all.
