Joyce: You got it, Babycakes
Tina rolled her eyes. Joyce Wischnia was a big time lesbian lawyer and also a huge flirt. The first time Tina met Joyce, she winked at her. She was harmless and also the best in the business.
Tina: Thanks, Joyce! Also, how soon can you have it back to me?
Joyce: I read contracts in my sleep. I’ll have it back to you in 3-4 days.
Tina: Thanks, Joyce! You’re the best.
Joyce: I really am.
Tina giggled and read Bill’s note again.
“Your next big project doesn’t start for a couple of months. So, take some time off. You’ve earned it.”
“I will do exactly that, Bill,” Tina said out loud.
She knew just how she wanted to spend those couple of months.
She was going to woo one Ms. Bette Porter.
Tina smiled again.

James met Bette at the gallery entrance with a cup of coffee, a pile of notes and a huge smile. He’d already been there for a couple of hours, meeting with art buyers and helping them load the pieces they bought from Carpe Diem. He wanted to make sure he was on top of his game and that he anticipated Bette’s questions before she even asked. Bette mentioned she wanted to talk to him about “some things”. He didn’t know what she had in mind and he didn’t need to give Bette any reason to bring up him being “sick” or Tina or anything involving his part in the deception. That was going to be a complete shit show. He didn’t want to think about that right now. His goal was to make the transition from Carpe Diem to KiKi’s show a seamless one.
James handed Bette her coffee and waited for her to take a swig. She usually didn’t drink coffee but James understood the next 11 days were going to be taxing. As Bette was lowering the glass from her mouth, James began talking.
“Good morning! Here is the schedule for the week.”
He handed her a printout.
“As you can see, you are fully booked.”
Bette looked over the schedule and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Franklin’s name on Thursday. Before she could even say anything, James started talking faster.

What a difference a phone call can make…. great chapter. Glad to see Tina is a little more patient and in control with respect to Bette. Too bad she did wait and get the complete story from Tom but at least she got Rose Touché’ to come in as quickly as she did. Rose will be a very nice asset for her. I am a little worried about Tina’s future relationship with Bill and her future traveling commitments for the studio. For some reason, I just cannot see the studio giving Tina a “one and done” assignment where she is on scene for months at a time pulling the production through to meet budget and to meet schedule. When someone recues a project, they suddenly become the go to person for all similar situations.
Nice chapter… glad to see you back… cannot wait to see what happens at Kiki’s show.
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Tina is doing her best to be patient with Bette. Tina’s relationship with the studio is going to be an interesting one. I have some ideas of how that’s going to play out but we will see. The key for them is to keep talking. So, if she does have to leave, it won’t be as a shock.
There will be fireworks at KiKi’s show. LOL!

U’re so frickin’ exceptional at weaving “memories” into your stories. Just like Bette had to snap out of the “massage” memory, we find U have to sharply mention our names as we melt into your story.

Julia: “What do you mean?”
Tina: “My director just informed me that he has to leave for a few days . . . . .
Julia: “Okay. And where does the charging come in?”
Tina: “I fired him on the spot and told him to get off my fucking set”.
And Julia: “. I see. That might have been a bit rash.” Ya think????!!!!!
