“I’m sorry about Kelly. We were attracted to each other. We both knew it was wrong and how much it would hurt you but we couldn’t resist it. It was just an affair Tina – an ill-fated affair that never should have happened. I realized it early on. I tried to break it off but she couldn’t accept it. She clung to something that wasn’t there. You were always between us. It never would have worked with Kelly even with you gone. She’s a different person and the drinking only makes it worse. I’m glad that you are willing to get her help … I could never get through to her. She’s mourning your loss Tina. That’s why she drinks and she blames me for it. That’s the only reason she said the things she said, but now you’re back. We can try to fix things.”
“How do we fix things Jodi? Do you think getting on your knees and sweet talking me is going to convince me that you’re not a self-serving bitch that married me for gain; fucked my best friend right under my nose; and then tried to get rid of me at the first opportunity so you could get your hands on my fortune? Do you think I could feel any compassion for you when you can’t even look at me without revulsion? Jodi the fact is you did this. Your greed destroyed countless lives Jodi including your own.
You manipulated two vulnerable women and made a mockery of our love. You used it to destroy us and now you expect that we could muster that same love to fix things? You betrayed everything that meant anything to me Jodi; my love, my trust, our vows and commitment to each other… so how do we fix this? Did you expect I would just let you off the hook with an uncontested divorce so you could carry on as if nothing happened? Answer me Jodi how do hell do we fix things? I’ll tell you how … the only way to fix this is you confessing to attempted murder.” Tina’s tone was soft but menacing.
Suddenly Jodi was on her feet yelling like a banshee. “You’re out of your fucking mind if you think I’m going to make any confessions; and you’re right I do find you revolting and it’s not just your scars. You think you’ve got all this figured out but I have a good defense and you don’t have a case. Your evidence is circumstantial at best and your witnesses are weak … Joyce has hated me since we met. A good attorney can argue she never wanted you to marry me and now she’s trying to turn you against me. You yourself admitted to memory loss so how reliable are your recollections, plus you’re still my wife. I don’t think you can even testify against me. As for Kelly she’ll do what I tell her to save her own ass. What jury would believe that your best friend would have stayed with me all this time if she thought I had committed murder? She’s my best defense.”

My God! I’m smiling like a damn fool at 1:05 am and my ass needs to be asleep cause I got to get up at 5 am for work. I was asleep but woke up several times to check for the post. FINALLY it was here and I just finished reading it! Tina gave a performance of a LIFE TIME! Tina Kennard wins the OSCAR for best actress! You go girl! You one bad ass BITCH! Babe In Total Control Herself!! Bette just topped it off by putting her arms around her. That was such a romantic moment! I had tears in my eyes at that moment! You are one AMAZING writer! I’m still acting like I’ve NEVER read this before! Its so amazing and wonderful. I can’t wait until the next chapter but I have to. It was worth the wait. This chapter was fantastic! I loved that Tina was no longer a victim but victorious. All people should quit being the victim, but turn the tables on the abuser. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I hope there will be more chapters to this story, but it will be hard to beat this last chapter. No matter what, I do wish you the best in your writings and I hope that you are doing it as a career, you do have talents.
