    Kelly was reliving the experience of waking up to hearing Tina’s voice saying pretty much those same words. She’d been steadily drinking. Seeing Tina like this was heart wrenching.     Kelly was reliving the experience of waking up to hearing Tina’s voice saying pretty much those same words. She’d been steadily drinking. Seeing Tina like this was heart wrenching. The guilt was eating away at her. She loved Tina, but she’d loved Jodi more or at least she thought she did. However Jodi had betrayed them both and ruined their lives. The whiskey was no longer potent enough to make her forget. The tears turned into uncontrollable sobbing. Tina touching her so gently and talking to her so calmly was melting her resolve. She made the decision that she should have made two years prior …

    “It was all Jodi’s idea. She made me lie to the police. I didn’t mean for it to happen. Tina … I didn’t mean for it to be so horrible. Oh Tina I’m so scared of her. Please help me. Please I don’t know what to do.”

    Tina didn’t overlook the fact that Kelly’s motive for the confession was not so much about doing the right thing as it was for self-preservation. For that reason Tina had no compunction about the way she’d gotten at the truth. Her sister was lost to her … one more thing Jodi Lerner had taken away.

    “It’s OK honey. We’ll get you the help you need. Joyce is going to take care of you. Joyce why don’t you help Kelly to bed? I’d like to have a few minutes alone with Jodi.”

    “I’m not leaving you alone with her Tina.”

    “Please Joyce … I’ll be fine. She can’t hurt me anymore. You stay with Kelly.”

    Joyce was playing her part to the hilt and Tina had to smile inwardly. Joyce helped Kelly to her feet and supported her full weight as they left the den and walked towards the guest bedrooms. Once there she helped Kelly to undress and put her to bed. She stayed in the room sitting on the window seat watching Kelly until she was sure she’d fallen asleep. She then turned on the remote access portable computer she carried in her briefcase. In seconds she had a perfect view of the den and with her headsets she could hear the conversation between Jodi and Tina.

    Joyce just sat back watching the drama unfold. She was in awe at Tina’s composure as she calmly talked to Jodi. Personally she’d have gone ballistic if she were in Tina’s shoes and left alone in a room with Jodi Lerner. Although anyone else in this situation might feel trapped or be tempted to make a move to overtake Tina Jodi did no such thing. Her ego gave her the confidence to believe she could finesse her way out of facing possible prosecution.

    2. My God! I’m smiling like a damn fool at 1:05 am and my ass needs to be asleep cause I got to get up at 5 am for work. I was asleep but woke up several times to check for the post. FINALLY it was here and I just finished reading it! Tina gave a performance of a LIFE TIME! Tina Kennard wins the OSCAR for best actress! You go girl! You one bad ass BITCH!     8. It was worth the wait. This chapter was fantastic! I loved that Tina was no longer a victim but victorious. All people should quit being the victim, but turn the tables on the abuser. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I hope there will be more chapters to this story, but it will be hard to beat this last chapter. No matter what, I do wish you the best in your writings and I hope that you are doing it as a career, you do have talents.
