The Gathering – 01.98 – Like Me Now – Intro to the King Pt 5 – Meaning

“I need her testimony, got me? Understand doc? She’s is helping RAISE the boy, now I don’t have her, I have half the ammo that I need.” Rosita reminded Sam, and Sam met Lara’s scared eyes.

“We will win without it. Case is closed; Lara isn’t stepping foot in the courtroom.” Shane sighed, Lara had told them about the Witness Protection Program, and Sam had arranged, with Jo, to have Lara exonerated from having to testify. It had been something that Jo could do in a heart beat, contacting the US Marshal service, and it was done. Virtually over night, Lara was in awe at how many connections Jo and Sam had between the two of them.

“Fine.” Ro said heatedly, and Tina stood up and headed for the kitchen, she bumped into Ro as Ro was exiting the kitchen,

“Sorry.” Tina said in a sultry voice, and Ro looked down at her, letting her hand brush Tina’s as she moved away with a grin on her face.

“S’ok bella.” Ro said, watching Tina walking to the kitchen, Jenny offering the lawyer some more coffee, and Marina asking Rosita how her week had been. Idle chit chat for half an hour, until the phone rang, delivering news that no one wanted to hear.

    *****

“Huh?” Jo said into the phone as she was pulling into the driveway of Sam and Shane’s house, Amy in the passengers seat, Jo looked pissed off. She touched Jo’s hand, and she could feel the heated anger brimming inside of Jo. Jo had a temper like no other woman she’d ever met, and it was dangerous.

“No, trail him if you can. If he’s on the lamb, we need to know! No, I can do it from here, the tap was on the DL, so don’t call it in. I’m lead on this, got me Cali? Good, we’ll be en route as soon as I can get ‘em in their cars.”

“What is going on?” Amy asked, and Jo dialed Emma’s number and said to her wife, she put the phone to her ear, and said to Amy.

“He’s running.” Amy instantly ran to the house, as Jo got back into the car, gunning the engine of the Mustang and waiting for her wife to come back. This was a chase to who could get to point A first, and before he took off to point B. Jo reached into the back seat, pulling out the sleek Sony Laptop, threading the wire to her GPS system. She began to type quickly, reaching into her pocket and finding the codes she needed.  Hacking. It was a pastime when they’d been in high school, in college when they’d been working with the Kindred, it had become a way of life. Getting to information that no one wanted them to get, and doing what they needed with it. Now as an FBI agent, she used it to her advantage. She was a good hacker, but Amy was a brilliant one. Come on, let’s see where you are going Richard? The satellite link up beeped and she knew she was in, now it was just a matter of time.
