“Fuck this!” Tina yells after another worthless meeting with her staff. She picks up her purse and walks off the set, needing food and a strong cup of coffee. She jumps in her car and drives away, burning the rubber on her new expensive tires.

“Hey. What are you guys doing here?” Tina smiles at Shane, Alice and Dana, finally getting some control of her emotions, although she cannot shake the thought of her girlfriend with that surfer hottie.

“Better question, what are you doing here? We haven’t seen you in months.” Alice gets up and hugs her friend. Tina kisses Shane and Dana on the cheek.

“I needed a break.” Is all Tina could muster. She is utterly exhausted and can’t stop thinking about Bette.

“You do look like you need another vacation.” Shane smiles.

“Bette’s been really worried about you. She’s looking forward to tonight.” Dana says excitedly.

“What? Have you been talking to Bette?”

“Um, Yeah. We’ve been running together and we have lunch sometimes when our schedules permit.” Dana says innocently. Tina furrows her brows.

“She’s the only one that can keep up with me?” Dana looks teasingly at Alice.

“What? I prefer a more horizontal exercise.” Alice winks making Dana blush.

“You seem to be spending more time with my girlfriend than I am.” There’s a hint of hurt and accusation in Tina’s voice. She takes a sip of her coffee to calm herself down. “I told her I was working late tonight. She’ll probably be asleep when I get home.”

“You’re working late tonight?” Dana’s eyes widen in surprise.

“Yes. This new project has been a fucking nightmare. I haven’t been home before midnight for a couple of months now. It’s killing me. It’s killing us.” Tina finishes under her breath.

“But tonight is your six month anniversary. Bette has big plans for the two of you.” Dana raises her voice in concern.

“Fuck!” Tina’s eyes widen in shock. She closes them quickly and drops her head back. How could she be so selfish and self-absorbed?

“Tina. Is everything okay?” Shane looks worriedly at her friend. Tina breaks out in tears. All the pent up emotions, all the fears and frustrations come crashing to the surface. Her heart feels like it’s ripping in two.
