While Lilly and Tina were occupied with giving Alex a bath, feeding him and getting him ready for his nap, Bette and Peter had a chance to speak privately about Tina’s situation. Bette trusted Peter without any reservations and had filled him in on all details at least what they knew so far. “Peter I can’t thank you and Lilly enough for today. We had a wonderful time and it was just what Tina needed to get her mind off everything at least for a little while. God only knows how things will go tonight once we get to the wrap party.”
“Do you think Kate will show up?” Peter asked with concern in his voice.
“Not if she knows what’s good for.” Bette answered still outraged at the abusive way Kate had treated Tina compounded by her possible involvement in stealing the film. “I can’t believe she’d have the audacity to show, but she’s insane. It’s anyone’s guess what she’ll do. Besides that she’s not the only problem. Aaron is being an asshole and we still don’t know if William is involved or what his reaction is going to be to all this. All I know is that I’m not leaving Tina’s side tonight.”
“You’ll have security won’t you?” Peter confirmed.
“Of course and so will you, Lilly and the baby.” After talking to Tina and getting more details from the conversation with Sally and Sam Bette had made another call to Trevor; this time with Tina’s knowledge and consent. The blonde had given Bette the go-ahead to ask Trevor to extend the investigation to include Eric as a possible suspect. They wanted to find out if it was plausible that Eric impersonated the messenger and committed the thefts in both Los Angeles and Canada. Based on what Sally had told them they gave the description of the messenger as a Caucasian male, approximately 6’2” tall with long dirty blonde hair, a full beard and mustache and dull green eyes. He was of average weight but had a paunch around the middle and walked with a limp.
After assuring Bette that they could rest easy and enjoy their time in Canada knowing his team was doing everything possible Trevor made good on his word. The first order of business was to arrange for a security detail that would be assigned 24/7 to the couple, their baby and any family or friends that might come in contact with Eric or Kate. They didn’t anticipate any violence from either of them but they weren’t taking any chances until Eric and Kate were apprehended or at least until they confirmed their whereabouts.
