The Real Tibette – Christmas 2023
Sasha listened closely to Herbie’s explanation of where presents got hidden.
‘There’s a big closet next to my moms’ room,’ she said. ‘I saw presents in there before, but it’s always locked.’
Herbie nodded, with a sad expression. ‘Probably where they are.’
Sasha sighed. ‘We should check where we can, though? Just in case they hid them somewhere stupid?’
A flash of fear in Herbie’s eyes as Sasha got to her feet. ‘You mean now?’
‘Mhmm,’ the girl said, glancing round at the adults milling around the ground floor.
‘What about Melissa Sings?’
‘Miranda.’ Sasha shrugged. ‘I’ll see her later.’
And she was off, slipping quietly up the stairs. Solly hesitated a moment but then leapt up after her, leaving Herbie no choice, it seemed, but to follow.
The first room they came to was Angie’s. Sasha told Herbie to wait outside and watch for anyone coming. Solly followed her in, watching placidly while she peeked under the bed, and in the closet, opened a drawer or two. It felt wrong, but to Sasha the urge to settle the question of Santa’s existence was silencing all her better angels. And anyway, there was nothing to see.
‘Nope,’ she said, pulling the door closed softly behind her.
‘This is wrong,’ said Herbie.
But he might as well have been talking to Solly because Sasha was already opening the door to Ben’s room. Herbie waited outside, chewing his lip. A few minutes later Sasha emerged with a face like she’d just smelled a rotting corpse.
‘My brother is disgusting,’ she said.
Herbie said nothing, then noticed Solly had a white sports sock in his mouth. ‘Um . . .’
Sasha leaned down and tried to snatch the sock, but this was one of Sol’s favourite games and a mighty tussle ensued, with the little spaniel snarling and growling as his tail thudded off the rods on the banister.
Eventually Sasha prevailed, landing on her ass when Solly let go the sock.
‘Aargh!’
Solly barked. Herbie shushed him. Sasha got to her feet, threw the sock back into Ben’s room, then scooted along to the final room on the so-called kids’ floor: Shane’s.
‘This is wrong,’ Herbie said again.
‘It’s not wrong!’ Sasha hissed at him. ‘They’re wrong for lying about Santa!’

Hey Pal,
Happy holidays to you also from across the big blue pond!
Interesting party with lots of extraordinary guests. Shame Bette couldn’t get to meet AB – but maybe will anyway.
Wow, Shane popping the BIG question. Hope this time its forever & they’ll both be happy together.
Gotta say that Sol might want to rethink about hanging around Sasha in the future – that girl is dangerous to be around!!
Thanks for another great glimpse into the wonderful life of Bette & Tina & their awesome family.
Thinking though that there should be a quick follow-up chapter about their Christmas Day though!! Ha!!
Thanks for the treat.
Hi pal! YOu’ve just reminded me that I owe you an email! Oops. Really dropped the ball – sorry.
Thanks for reading this. And yes, I am moulding Sasha into being Trouble with a capital T. No fun if it’s all too easy, is there?? ;-)
I hope you’re well and that you’ve had a good time over the holidays.

Sasha, Sasha, Sasha! Of course she will be the one telling tales of Mama T and Mama B to her children. What a pleasant surprise this Christmas night to find your story. And then to have Shane pop the question! Thank you for keeping the spirt of Tibette alive. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the readers of this site. Donate please!
Hi majic! Hope you’re well! Thanks so much for reading this story and for commenting. It means a lot to me. :-)
Y’know, it’s a real dilemma, writing this story, whether to skip ahead in time or not. In some ways, I’d really like to. I’me very drawn to the idea of writing B&T’s life with adult kids and grandkids etc. But then you end up skirting around the ‘d’ word and I don’t ever want to write that.
Agree about supporting this site! Hope you had a good time over the holidays!

LOVE it Largo! So nice to see you continuing this story and now we need to hear all about Shane’s engagement and why Angie is so tired (is she pregnant?) and more more more Tina and Bette with all the drama. Merry Christmas!
