    The Roommates – 2nd Dimension: Chapter 29

The blonde took a deep breath and continued on. It should be no secret to you that your father and I were miserable when we were married. And it was my fault for staying with him for so long. But I was suffocating, Bette. Everything had to be his way or no way. I had an MBA from Stanford University, but there I was, sitting at home.a lonely housewife. I was bored out of my mind and Melvin refused to let me work. He kept saying my place was at home with you. But you werent even there. You were in school all day.

I was getting more and more depressed. One day I sat down on my bed and tried to figure out what would be the easiest way to kill myself. I had it all planned out, Bette. I was going to do that old carbon monoxide in the garage trick and just go to sleep and never wake up. Just the thought of knowing all the pain would end was enough to energize me. I got so excited. I had everything planned out for the next day..and then you came home from school. And I realized youd probably be the one to find me. I didnt want to do that to you. I didnt want to hurt you like that.

But that made me realize just how sick I was becoming. So, I went to the doctor and was referred to a psychiatrist. I started taking these anti-depressants and it took forever for me to get the right medication and the right dosage. In the meantime, I was miserable. Id lost contact with all of my friends, I felt like I had no one to talk to. I was ashamed of taking the meds, so I didnt tell my parents and Karen was so hard to talk to back then. So, I just kept it to myself. Until the medical bills came and I had to explain it to your father.

Bette listened as her mother spoke. She remembered her mothers sadness, but hadnt been privy to the rest of the details. She wiped at her tears and slowly looked up to meet her mothers eyes.

    Comments

    1. Her mother explains herself and makes it almost acceptable.
Was the word – p*ss? It seems a bit coarse for you!
Is Bette going to tell Janice about Tina? I don’t think she should, how can she trust her?
Thanks for posting another chapter of this touching story.

    2. MTS… great job as usual…glad they talked and bette listened… only one thing bothers me… THE MELVIN will be home soon… and will the shit hit the fan then…. i hope bette tells her mom about her and tina…. thanks again looking for the next ch

    3. I’ve just read about 6 of the last chapters, and it’s just amazing. I am loving this story so much. Please keep it going. I love the progress our girls are making, and the incorporation of Bette’s family. Great work, please keep it coming.

    4. just ot done reading all of your story. have absolutely loved it. i love how it started at school. a starting place for many of us. loved the no sex thingy. i think having bette tell her mom about tina will be good. also when mel finds out about out girls, mom can save the day, as usua. post soon

    5. I’m glad her mother got the chance to explain and that Bette is releasing some of the pain she’s been carrying around all those years. Tina’s has and is doing a good job but I think Bette needs her mom to fully help her heal. (I wouldn’t trust her though)

    6. A Moving update! Reconcilliation is never easy but worth it. You have ways with your words. Looking forward to the next update. And the NO SEX thing was just too hillarious!

    7. I don’t buy Janice’s explanation. I can empathize with her pain, confusion, and lack of esteem. But since she saw Bette from afar, she should’ve attempted to reach/contact her–even with cards. There are no excuses—just forgiveness.

    8. MTS,
      Bravo!

      Awaiting the next installment.
      Your loyal fan.
      PS is the word ‘enlightenment’?

    10. Oh how amazing. The question is now that Bette has her mother’s love will it impact her relationship with Tina? Will Bette tell mom about Tina? Wow the beauty of your story so well told that we all want more. Thanks
