    The Roommates: Chapter 21

Well, were just trying to work through some things., said Tracy.

Tina, are you really pregnant?, asked Steven.

Yes, Dad., Tina mumbled, her head still lowered.

Tina, look at me., said Steven.

Tina looked up and saw the intensity in her fathers gaze. This was his angry gaze. His voice was quiet, but he was steaming mad. There were worry lines etched in his forehead and Tinas stomach flipped just looking at him. Stevens jaw was set and his eyes narrowed, looking down at his youngest daughter.

Is this Erics child?, he asked.

Tina swallowed hard and nodded. It is.

Stevens voice was low as he uttered, Ill kill him., his hands balled into tight fights.

Tracy recognized the look in her husbands eyes and knew that this was not just a figure of speech. She rushed to smooth this situation out and stood up and grabbed her husbands arms, rubbing them as she looked into his eyes. Steven, just calm down. Lets not get upset. Well get through this, okay?.

Trace, this isnt okay. Our daughter is pregnant. Weve done so much for her and this is what she does?, said Steven.

Honey, she didnt mean for this to happen. And this is not the end of the world. Well get through this., said Tracy.

Im so sorry, Dad. I really am., said Tina, her voice, a hoarse, tear-laced whisper.

Steven Kennard looked into his daughters eyes, his disappointment apparent on his face. Im sorry, too kiddo., he said.

Sensing that her spouse was a little more rational, Tracy let him go and sat back down. She grabbed Tinas hands. Tina, your father and I are both so hurt by this. But, you know we still love you.

    Tina nodded.

Tracy continued. Ill tell you what, tomorrow Ill make an appointment with Dr. Murphy and well get you all checked out. In the meantime, lets all calm down and try to enjoy the rest of this day. We are still a family and even though this has thrown us for a loop, we will make it through this. Lets go back downstairs, have a nice meal, and spend some time together, okay? Well discuss this more tomorrow.

    1. I actually liked Tina’s parents for being big enough to stay calm about her pregnancy, then came dinner. I still cannot fathom why sexual orientation matters so much to some people. I hope that Tina will allow herself to love Bette with or without the consent of her family. I love this story, thank you for updating and I look forward to reading more. . .SOON!

    2. It’s so sad that we think we need to have it all together as humans. We look too much at what is different than to realize that we are a race of people. Thanks for writing a sensitive piece. Tina’s parents and family can change their thoughts if given a fair chance. Love can change people, selfishness cannot.

    3. Oh poor Tina, everything is driving her crazy and hard, she need time to rest and nothing bother her and let her and Bette meet and talk and be together. Hope thing will well with Tina. Please post soon, thank you! Great chapter!
