    Bette learns Italian and Tina starts to scream. (A B&T beginning set on a college campus.)

    Tinas moans had turned to whimpers and Bette looked over at her, her concern growing. The whimpers became louder and more frequent. Suddenly, she yelled out, Noooo! Nooo!. Tinas body thrashed about on her bed and Bette ran over to wake the sleeping beauty. Bette sat on the side of Tinas bed and gently shook her friend, attempting to rouse her from sleep.

    Tina opened her eyes, her mind still paralyzed with the images of her nightmare. She didnt know where she was or what was going on. Bette rushed to calm her down. Shed never seen Tina like this.

    T, its okay. You had a nightmare. Youre okay. Relax.

    Tina was panting and had broken out in a light sweat. Her dream had seemed so real. The images came crashing down around her and she reached out for Bette. Bette held her in a loose embrace and rubbed Tinas back. Its okay, youre okay. It was only a dream.

    As Tinas breathing returned to normal, Bette pulled back and looked into Tinas eyes. Are you okay?, she asked.

    Tina nodded in response. Bette was not so confident. Are you sure, T? Tina nodded again and lay back down on the bed. Okay, well Im going to finish studying. Im here if you need anything.

    As she turned to leave, Tina reached out and grabbed Bettes hand. There were tears in her eyes as she finally spoke, Dont leave me, Bette.

    T, Im not going anywhere. Ill be right over there, at my desk.

    Tina just shook her head as the tears spilled over her eyes. No, stay here with me, Please, Bette. Dont go.

    Bette was blown away. She had no idea what was going on with Tina. Shed never seen her so upset. Okay. Ill stay right here.

    Bette?

    Yes?

    Will you hold me? asked Tina. She was still crying and Bette could feel that she was also shaking. Bette moved instinctively to Tina and slipped into bed with her. She wrapped her roommate in a warm embrace, the blonds head resting on Bettes shoulder. Tina, youre scaring me. Are you okay?

    Tina had stopped shaking and her tears had stopped flowing. But her dream had seemed so real that she had a hard time letting go of the images in her mind. Im okay, she said softly.

    14. I kept thinking as I was reading the girls admission of love that at the end of the chapter it was going to be all a dream. So glad it wasn’t. Loved that Bette was bold with asking Tina how she felt. But I am so dense because if someone called me baby and told me to embrace my sexuality I wouldn’t have thought anything of it. However, Tina’s dream, I would have definately picked up on that. I guess your Bette just has good gaydar. Beautiful writing by the way.

    22. Oh Yea….you are on a roll…Instead of 7 years in a relationship…why not 20? I have a couple of friends that have been together since high school and they are now in their early fifties. How often does one find the love of their life so young and stay together for the rest of their lives? You can tell by the way they look at each other, the spart that brought them together is still there. Awesome
