    “Alice? What are you doing? What about Tina? And Dana? Are you just going to leave them?” she asked. Alice pulled off her shades, her eyes dark and hard, the mirth replaced with anger. “What the fuck is up with you? Dana left us, remember?” Bette looked lost and afraid. It had been a million

    Alice pulled off her shades, her eyes dark and hard, the mirth replaced with anger. “What the fuck is up with you? Dana left us, remember?”

    Bette looked lost and afraid. It had been a million years since Alice had seen her friend appear so out of sorts. The anger gave way to concern. Maybe she was dreaming on the plane, she thought.

    Bette shook her head slowly. “But Tina? Where’s T? How are you just going to drive away?”

    Alice eyed her curiously. “Who the fuck is Tina?”

    Dark brown eyes grew wide and she heard a cell phone chirping. “Who the fuck is Tina? Are you kidding me? Tina, Tina! Why are we leaving her? Alice, turn around!”

    “Jesus, Bette! No more Molly alright? That shit is frying your brain. You sound like a crazy person. And answer your fucking phone!” Alice yelled, driving onto the exit ramp.

    Maybe this is a dream. Maybe this is just a dream. Everything is different. What happened to my clothes? What happened to Tina? And Dana? And my backpack? And Tina? Where the fuck is Tina?

    Bette reached for her front jean pocket to grab her phone, but there was no front pocket on these pants. She followed the chirping sound to a large-sized purse that she was still wearing, it hung off her right arm. Searching through the bag she saw a rectangle with a glowing screen and a familiar, yet foreign face smiling at her. She picked up the phone and hit the red “decline” button.

    “Sidney?” she said aloud, staring at the phone in her hand. Whose phone was this? Where was her cute little flip phone? And her jeans? And her sneakers? And Tina?

    “Are you okay, Bette?” asked Alice.

    Am I okay? Do I look okay? What the fuck is happening?

    Bette pinched her thigh and closed her eyelids together, hoping this dream would end. Hoping she’d see Tina. Hoping she’d feel Tina’s arms around her. She looked down at the phone in her hand, staring at the date.

    1. I must say i absolutely not expected this turn of event. And for now i don’t know how i feeling about it. Very unexpected.

      I really loved the story about young students Bette and Tina in 2005 and how they were in love to each other. And what happen to that Tina? Her Bette just died on her hands in that universe or what? What happen to them – i like, no i need to know.

    2. I’m think i’m up and would continue to follow this story, but i would be very grateful if you’ll explain in this storyline destiny of those Tibette in 2005 after that Bette’s collapse

    3. This was a complete surprise!! I wonder if The L Word – Generation Q will use something like this for its story line? We are now in an alternative universe where Tina Kennard just doesn’t exist or if she does, she out there among the 8 billion people who reside on the earth. Okay, so Bette has gone from age 18 or 19 to age 33 or 34 in this story? Or perhaps she’s older than that? In this new universe there is Alice and there is Dana, but Dana left “us”. Why does Bette have a portrait of Dana in her home? She must be someone very important in Bette’s alternative life to be the only photo or portrait in the house except for the picture of Melvin, Kit and David?

      I’m with Zhenya. There must be some explanation as to what happened to 2005 universe for Bette and Tina.

    10. I’m intrigued! Keep ’em coming, I can’t wait to read more. But I do hope that Bette will be able to find Tina. Or Tina will find Bette as she experienced the same ride through a vortex…or whatever it is :-)
