The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 1

Her voice was quiet when she spoke. “What year is it?”
Alice eyed her curiously. “Maybe I should take you to the hospital. You’re not acting like yourself.”
Bette glanced at her friend and then back to the phone in her hand, still trying to process the date on the screen. “Al, what year is it?” she asked again.
“Bette, honey, it’s 2019.”
The nausea grew worse. Bette dropped the phone and rubbed her belly with one hand, the other hand massaging the bridge between her eyes. Suddenly she was hot. Boiling. She rolled down her window, gulping the cool air, her chest heaving.
“Fuck it. We’re going to the hospital,” said Alice. She flipped her blinker to indicate a lane change, but Bette’s hand was suddenly on her arm.
A head of dark curls shook. “Please. No. Just take me – – take me– home.”
“You look like shit, Bette. I’m starting to get freaked out here.”
Bette wiped at the sweat on her brow. “I’m fine. I just need to rest.”
“Are you sure? I’d feel better if someone took a look at you. Maybe something’s wrong.”
The curls shook again. “I’m fine. Please.”
Bette leaned her head against the back of her seat, her face turned toward the window as she tried to calm her racing heart. The hum had returned to her ears. It was quieter, but it was there. It’s presence somehow comforting.
Alice was torn, her gaze bouncing between her friend and the road. She and Bette had been friends for years. Had seen each other through both highs and lows. Yet she’d never seen Bette Porter quite like this. When Alice spoke, her voice was gentle and loving. She was working hard to mask her fear. “Bette, you promise you’re okay. You’d tell me if you weren’t, right?”
Bette’s eyes were closed. She didn’t know what was happening around her, but she didn’t want to go to any hospital. She was afraid someone might think she was crazy. She knew damned well it was 2005 and that just moment again she’d held Tina in her arms. That wasn’t just in her mind. She was not crazy. Hell, the hum had even returned to her ears. She’d heard that sound before everything around her turned into pain and darkness. Before blood had streamed from her nose and her belly roared with pain.

I must say i absolutely not expected this turn of event. And for now i don’t know how i feeling about it. Very unexpected.
I really loved the story about young students Bette and Tina in 2005 and how they were in love to each other. And what happen to that Tina? Her Bette just died on her hands in that universe or what? What happen to them – i like, no i need to know.
I’m think i’m up and would continue to follow this story, but i would be very grateful if you’ll explain in this storyline destiny of those Tibette in 2005 after that Bette’s collapse
This was a complete surprise!! I wonder if The L Word – Generation Q will use something like this for its story line? We are now in an alternative universe where Tina Kennard just doesn’t exist or if she does, she out there among the 8 billion people who reside on the earth. Okay, so Bette has gone from age 18 or 19 to age 33 or 34 in this story? Or perhaps she’s older than that? In this new universe there is Alice and there is Dana, but Dana left “us”. Why does Bette have a portrait of Dana in her home? She must be someone very important in Bette’s alternative life to be the only photo or portrait in the house except for the picture of Melvin, Kit and David?
I’m with Zhenya. There must be some explanation as to what happened to 2005 universe for Bette and Tina.
Hola he seguido todas tus historias hasta ahora pero este inicio me ha dejado desconcertada porque no se que paso con mi pareja favorita
Y me estoy preguntando dónde está Tina y porque bette se desmaya
Here’s a tiny bit of a spoiler.
This is definitely a TiBette story. I promise, the journey will be very interesting.
Wow! I’m in for the whole ride. Please post as soon as possible.
Hi! Yeah, i’m interesting in this story and will be waiting for the next update. But like the others I would like to know what happen with “another” Bette and Tina in another 2005.
Well! I’m with everyone else and happy to go along with this new story but I need closure on the Roommates Trilogy!
Look forward to your next post.

I’m intrigued! Keep ’em coming, I can’t wait to read more. But I do hope that Bette will be able to find Tina. Or Tina will find Bette as she experienced the same ride through a vortex…or whatever it is :-)
Okay, I just finished reading your earlier installments.
Hopefully I will be got up soon.
This first chapter I am as confused as Bette, but looking forward to the journey
you have planned.
