The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 1

    “Kit’s son?” Bette asked herself.

There were no photos of Tina. She would never have a home and not have photos of Tina.

She made her way to the master bedroom, padding along the wooden floors, her eyes drawn to the wide windows of the room. She could see out to an inground pool and well landscaped yard. There were pool chairs and umbrellas and a dizzying array of flowers and plants adorning the space.

The bed was king-sized and covered with a white duvet. A large screen television was mounted on the wall opposite the bed and a floor to ceiling bookcase lined the wall behind her bed. This room was chic yet cold. There were no photos here. Bette walked through an attached bathroom, again decorated in muted grays and whites with a standing, separate white tub. She found herself in a large walk-in closet lined with rows and rows of clothes on wooden hangers. There were suits and dresses, purses and shoes. A chest of drawers stood in the center of the room. She hunted through them until she found something that felt comfortable: a pair of worn gray sweats and a faded UCLA t-shirt. She dropped the shirt and slacks she was wearing on the floor. Making her way back to the bedroom, she finally caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and came to a screeching halt.

She flipped on the overhead light, staring at her reflection. She was in full makeup, yet there were dark circles and wrinkles under her eyes. Though she had recently straitened her hair, it was now curly again, hanging loose and long, nearly reaching her breasts. And her breasts were fuller, her figure more developed. She didn’t look like a 19-year-old anymore. A grown woman was staring back at her.

    “What the fuck?”

She raced away to find the purse she’d had on her arm. Rifling through it she found the cell phone with the long, wide screen. It asked her for a passcode or her fingerprint. “My fucking fingerprint is going to unlock my phone?” she asked aloud.

The phone didn’t unlock when she placed her thumb right on top of the giant screen. It just kept telling her that it would accept her thumb print or her passcode. She tried her index finger on the screen next. When that didn’t work, she tried all of her fingers, one at a time and still the phone would not unlock. At last, she accidently placed her thumb on the phone’s home button, and it sprang to life. She hunted around through a maze of icons until she found something that read “contacts”.

    1. I must say i absolutely not expected this turn of event. And for now i don’t know how i feeling about it. Very unexpected.

I really loved the story about young students Bette and Tina in 2005 and how they were in love to each other. And what happen to that Tina? Her Bette just died on her hands in that universe or what? What happen to them – i like, no i need to know.

    2. I’m think i’m up and would continue to follow this story, but i would be very grateful if you’ll explain in this storyline destiny of those Tibette in 2005 after that Bette’s collapse

    3. This was a complete surprise!! I wonder if The L Word – Generation Q will use something like this for its story line? We are now in an alternative universe where Tina Kennard just doesn’t exist or if she does, she out there among the 8 billion people who reside on the earth. Okay, so Bette has gone from age 18 or 19 to age 33 or 34 in this story? Or perhaps she’s older than that? In this new universe there is Alice and there is Dana, but Dana left “us”. Why does Bette have a portrait of Dana in her home? She must be someone very important in Bette’s alternative life to be the only photo or portrait in the house except for the picture of Melvin, Kit and David?

I’m with Zhenya. There must be some explanation as to what happened to 2005 universe for Bette and Tina.

    4. Hola he seguido todas tus historias hasta ahora pero este inicio me ha dejado desconcertada porque no se que paso con mi pareja favorita
Y me estoy preguntando dónde está Tina y porque bette se desmaya

    5. Hi! Yeah, i’m interesting in this story and will be waiting for the next update. But like the others I would like to know what happen with “another” Bette and Tina in another 2005.

    6. I’m intrigued! Keep ’em coming, I can’t wait to read more. But I do hope that Bette will be able to find Tina. Or Tina will find Bette as she experienced the same ride through a vortex…or whatever it is :-)

    7. Okay, I just finished reading your earlier installments.
Hopefully I will be got up soon.
This first chapter I am as confused as Bette, but looking forward to the journey
      you have planned.
