The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 19
“I’m sorry, Bette,” she whispered.
But the Bette behind her eyes didn’t respond to her apology. And so she spoke up. “I’m sorry!”
That Bette just stared at her, the dark brown eyes filled with fury. They were unforgiving. “Bette! I’m sorry! Please!”
And then Sidney was yelling to the images in her mind, images Alice could not see. Alice shook her, trying to free her friend from this trance, but she couldn’t. Her feet carried her to the nurses’ station where she told them what was happening.
Three nurses moved quickly to the room and Alice stood back as they examined her and then added a medication to her IV. The scene was harrowing for Alice. Sidney was screaming for Bette, struggling against the two nurses who tried to hold her down. Her voice was in agony. She was pleading for forgiveness, her head thrashing about, her legs kicking against confinement.
The sedative they had given her worked quickly and soon the screaming slowed until it became a harsh whisper and Sidney’s heavy eyes closed. When the nurses realized Sidney was asleep, they went to work, placing her in arm and leg restraints.
One of the nurses, a diminutive, older Asian woman with a kind smile looked over at Alice. “She’ll be okay. It’s like this sometimes when they are coming down. We’re doing this for her own protection.”
Alice nodded and the nurse came near her, placing an arm around Alice’s shoulder. “She your sister?”
Alice nodded. She had told them she was Sidney’s sister, just in case they had wouldn’t let her see her.
“It’s hard to see her like this,” said Alice.
“I know. But she will get better. We should sign her over to psych. They can take better care of her there. At least while she dries out,” said the nurse.
“Okay. Yeah. That’s right. We talked about that.”
“She’s married, right?” asked the nurse.
Again, Alice nodded.
“Okay, then we need the permission of her spouse. Once we get the paperwork signed, we can move her over.”
Alice rubbed her eyes. She hated being in the middle of this. Hated that Bette wasn’t here. Hated that Sidney was the reason Bette wasn’t here.

Thank you for the chapter!
I think Sydney needs to worry not about Tina and is she sleeping or not with Bette, but about how much time she has before she end up in jail.

Yeah well, not sure she’ll end up in jail. Bette (and it’s understandable) doesn’t want the world to know and even if Tasha intervenes, it’s bad publicity for the gallery and the show !
Zhenya says
I’m sorry – if Sydney would kill someone they also no need to call the police because it could be bad publicity?

I agree totally with you but in the business world that’s how it seems to be !

Great chapter. Alice is in the middle not always a nice place to be. I hate being in the middle. Sometimes you just can’t be any where else… thank you.
