    B&T Fiction Set in College. “I’m always thinking of you, T. Always. But please, don’t be such a party-pooper with your family. You’re only there for a week. Try to enjoy them.”

    The young man smiled, his baby blues twinkling. “Absolutely not. I’d love the company.”

    Moments later, Bette was seated beside her handsome counterpart.

    “So, what are we going to see next?” asked Bette.

    As was habit for him, Richard’s mind flipped through the driving schedule in his head and as he prepared to speak, the friendliness in Bette’s demeanor reached out and transformed his words.

    “Well, it depends on what you want to see. What do you like to do? Where would you like to hang out? What things about this city do you want to know that you don’t want to see with your mother?” he asked.

    Bette smiled. “I guess I don’t really know what I want to see. Maybe a side of town where I might see two beautiful women holding hands or kissing each other passionately.”

    Understanding flashed in Richard’s eyes and he smiled even brighter. “Why Miss Porter, I thought you could be a family member.”

    “Family? You’re family?” she asked.

    Richard batted his baby blues and said, “You may as well call me Cousin Rich.”

    “It’s such a small world.”

    “That it is. But I can definitely get you hooked up in the know.”

    Richard slowly began easing the limo away from the curb and back into traffic.

    As he turned the wheel, the young man asked, “So are you looking to hook up or do you just want to check out gay life NYC style?”

    “Oh no. I’m just looking to check out the lifestyle. I have a girlfriend. She’s going to stay in LA for the summer.”

    “Nice. She coming to visit you?”

    Bette shrugged. “I hope so. I really need to see her. I miss her already.”

    Richard chuckled. “You baby dykes are so cute.”

    “What about you? You have a boyfriend?” asked Bette.

    “Nah. Right now I love being young and being pretty. I’m not into really settling right now. I have no problems picking up new conquests nightly.”

    “Well, if you’re not careful that’s not all you’re going to be picking up.”

    Richard smiled. “I like you, Bette. You’re fun to hang with. I tell you what we’ll head over to The Village and hang out for a little while. I’ll show you around. You up for that?”

    4. Hey MTS, Thanks for another great update. I hope Tina takes Bette’s advice and tries to enjoy her time at home instead of sitting around sulking. I’ve only seen Laurel Holloman in Angel (the tv series) and it was such a different vibe than Tina, but she still rocked the role. PPS!

    6. Hello MTS, Wonderful to have another fine and fabulous chapter from you. I just love how Bette and Tina’s worlds are opening up. Yes, they belong together and each know this but it doesn’t mean that they can’t experience the rest of the world. Bette need’s time to get to know her mother and her life. Good to see that Bette has an ally in Richard. I am sure he can guide her through the ups and downs of the NYC gay scene. And Tina does need to chill out and be herself around her Mom and Dad. There is a sense taht they both love and cherish her. OK being gay might be a shock to them and not the type of information they want broadcast around town but it is who Tina is. I do hope that if they find out then they remember that Tina is their child and deserves their love not matter who she loves. Just so heartfelt and emotional. I love every word. I jst can’t wait to read more of this delicious drama. Thank you so much for continuing this journey with Baby Bette and Tina. Your Loyal Fan.

    10. This story is so wonderfully written. The dynamics between Tina and Bette and their Moms are spot on to the situations you’ve laid out. I look forward to reading more and finding out if Tina comes out to her family.
