    B&T – College Life – 3rd Installment:”I love you,” she’d said.
    Three little words bearing an incalculable measure of contentment.

    David noticed the change in his companion’s temperament and made the connection between her sad eyes and the early afternoon’s discussion of Tina.

    “You’re really missing her?” he asked.

    Bette nodded and looked away from the wall-mounted painting, trying her best to regain her composure. “Does it bother you?” she asked, glancing at her stepfather from the side.

    David slipped his hands into his front jean pockets and looked over at Bette. He gave her a warm smile that stretched up to his eyes and replied, “Not at all. I’m glad you’re so forthcoming. I was a little nervous that I’d say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing. And that’s not just about you being gay. I just…I don’t really know you. And I’m trying to get to know you.”

    Bette smiled. “I’d like that.”

    She couldn’t help but compare her mother’s husband to her biological father. The more time she spent in David’s presence, the more she understood her mother’s decision to leave.

    “My mother really likes you. You’re nothing like….like him,” she whispered.

    David looked down for a moment and cleared his throat before speaking again. “You know…Melvin, he’s not all bad. He and I were friends for a long time. There is some good in him and I know that maybe it’s easy for you to forget that. He and I had some great times….before he started to change.”

    Bette shrugged. “He’s still not speaking to me. He pretty much disowned me when I told him about Tina.”

    The ruggedly handsome stepfather frowned and folded his arms across his silky yellow polo shirt. “He did that? He actually did that?”

    “Yes, he did. Cut me off completely.”

    David sighed. “He’s as stubborn as a mule. I’m sorry about that.”

    “It’s not your fault,” Bette replied.

    “Maybe it is. Maybe he just doesn’t feel in control and so he’s lashing out at you but he’s really angry with me and Janice. Whatever the case, you don’t have to hide around me. And if you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.”

    A rush of warmth slid around the young woman’s insides and she simply nodded.

Hmmm As for B meeting Debbie in the flesh, it was quite an experience for her, as they both share the same uncomprehension from some members of their families. Janice is being more perceptive of her daughter and we could appreciate her concern about B missing his father. B&T’s conversation was so sweet and honest, as usual. We smiled when Tina’s green monster of jealousy was so evident, while learning about Debbie. But above all, you can breathe and feel the magic of their love. You are taking us into a wonderful ride.     19. Hello MTS, Great to have another wonderful piece of this puzzle from Your. I just adore the reality of Bette and Tina’s love for each other here. These girls so belong, willingly, to each other. There is not a question of that. And it is something that everyone around them can realize. David saw it, Debbie saw and even Gina saw it. They are so affected by each other that even 3000 miles can not quench their love and attraction. The night time calls are so sweet and precious. Can’t wait to reac more of this terrific tale.
