Great! I hear something at my door and not sure who or what it is. Angie is spending the night over at Bridgette’s with her daughter Claire. They are best friends and have grown up together as Bridgette was 3 months pregnant when we met.

I get up and walk to the door and open it to find an envelope with my name on it. I open it to find a letter that has been typed but no signature indicating who it is from and nothing else in the envelope. I unfold it and began to read it.

Hi Tina!

Let me introduce myself. I am your Secret Santa and I am going to make your holiday wishes and dreams come true. You don’t have to tell me what those are because I already know. Just treat this adventure like the story A Christmas Carol. Except you will not be visited by ghosts. You will encounter regular people who I have lined up to carry out my gifts to you and your daughter. I have many delightful things in store for you both and those will be revealed as we go along.

Ok this is creepy. The crackpots come out this time of year I guess. I crumble the letter and take the envelope and deposit them in the trash. I start to walk away when the doorbell rings. I turn around and walk back to the door and answer it. It’s my landlord Mr. Yancy.

”Tina? Someone just paid your rent until the end of your lease which is up in May. I just wanted to tell you. You have a good night” he said and walked off

”Mr. Yancy!..Are you serious?..do you know who it was” I called out to him

He turned around and shook his head and shrugged his shoulders.

”I don’t know. There was a cashiers check left in an envelope instructing that it pay up your lease.” He stated and headed down the stairs.

I shake my head in shock and dig the letter out of the trash.
