As I walk out some idiot bumps into me.

”Hey Jackass! Watch where you are going moron!” I yell and look down to see an envelope ”Hey you dropped something!” I yell after him and pick up the envelope and look at it. I think I really should have stopped at the second shot because I see my name on it.”What the-” I mumble as I try to focus in my inebriated state because I’m not sure I’m reading it right but sure enough it says ’Bette’.

The guy that bumped into me is long gone now and if I took off running I would fall on my ass so I shrug my shoulders and open the envelope and take the letter out. I unfold it and see that it’s typed. I try to focus as the words are jumping all over the page so I close one eye and voila I can now focus and read it.

I hope you can focus while you are reading this in your inebriated state. But let me introduce myself. I am your Secret Santa and I am going to change your life for the better during this holiday season. You will have all your dreams and holiday wishes come true. I know. You could give three fucks about the holidays but humor me.

I have many wonderful things planned for you. You will be receiving letters like this one from people I have arranged to give to you at certain times. These letters will lead you on a holiday adventure. Since you are not having classes during this time it will keep you busy and your mind off the bottle. It’s a damn shame what you are doing to yourself Bette. I hate to see a sophisticated worldly woman like you slowly killing herself. We all make mistakes and it’s time to start living again and get out of the abyss you have been in for the last five years and I, your Secret Santa, will help you do just that.

Think real hard on what you want most in this world. I know what it is and I will help you get it. So if I have at least sobered you up a tad, go home, drink a cup of coffee, and I’ll be in touch. Oh and quit being a Scrooge!
