Deputy: I’m sorry to hear that. This is a terrible tragedy nonetheless, that poor child is going to need your strength, she just lost the only parents she ever knew and it’s going to be difficult for her in the beginning to cope with all of this. I’ve seen it many of times. The good thing is she knows who you are and you have already established a relationship with her, but the dynamic of going from auntie to mommy, will be a little hard for her to understand, so give it time.

Kit: Thank you Deputy Luke, for everything.

Deputy: Please just call me Luke.

The deputy smiled at Kit. He had always been a fan and had a huge crush on her but has still remained professional throughout this whole ordeal.

Kit: Luke, thanks for all your help.

Deputy: Just doing my job. Good luck to you and Angelica. I hope you would let me know how she is doing from time to time.

Kit: I will. Thank you.

Kit shook the deputy hands and walked out of the office. She was ecstatic to know that Angelica would be coming home tomorrow. The next day, as promised, the judge granted Kit full custody of Angelica. Kit was overwhelmed. She wasted no time running to Angelica once the judge granted custody. To her surprise, Angelica was in full spirit. For the first time, she seemed happy and like her old self again. The foster home was as described, full of kids and toys, and Angelica spent her days making new friends, eating healthy snacks, and just enjoying being a kid.

Kit: Hey baby girl, are you okay? They been nice to you over there?

Kit said with tears of joy in her eyes.

Angelica: Uh-huh. We built a clubhouse, and there was a lot of barbies, and we made brownies and had ice cream, and Ashley and I played in the mud, and then we watched Frozen, and we went swimming in Mr. Johnson pool, and then we played balloon fight, and then we ate pizza and had movie night.

Kit laughed as Angelica rambled on. She was happy to know that the Johnson’s took real good care of Angelica, it was all she cared about. They talked the whole way home and Angelica never once mentioned her mommy and daddy, but Kit knew eventually she would come to miss them. For now, Kit just wanted them to be happy together and she was going to make sure that stayed the case.  The next week, Kit knew it was time to go talk to Bette. They had seen each other throughout the Planet but never once spoke. She also took notice of how this situation was still affecting Bette and Tina’s relationship. Kit pulled into Bette’s driveway. She took a deep breath as she got out the car and went to knock on the door. Kit knew things were about to get worse once she revealed the truth but she had to face it, it was time to put an end to this so everyone could move on with their lives and get back to being a family. After a few knocks, thankfully it was Tina who answered the door.
