The showdown
“Where to now.” Eric asked as he got into the back seat of the waiting car and fastened his seat belt. Glancing at his carry-on luggage that was stored on the seat next to him, he was tempted to pull out his electric razor. Pulling on the beard he was still unaccustomed to he said, “I can’t wait to take a proper shower and shave this shit off my face.”
“The facial hair gives you character Eric. I think it’s rather becoming. You should think about keeping it. Just get it groomed like Mark here.” Said the man in the front passenger seat referring to the driver, Mark Wayland. Mark was just as handsome as Eric and could pass for his twin brother as he too sported dirty blonde long hair, mustache and a beard.
“This coming from a man that has no facial hair and shaves his head?” Eric snickered at the older man.
“Touché.” The man answered rubbing his clean-shaven head and face. He couldn’t be bothered with keeping up with the grooming required for the latest hairstyles. All he could accomplish was peach fuzz whenever he tried to grow facial hair so it suited him to just shave it off.
“Besides, the whole idea of growing it was a disguise to look like Mark so we could create doubt. What would be point of keeping it?” Eric asked as he peered forward and inspected his scruffy appearance in the car’s rear view mirror. Mark smirked when he caught his friend’s eye in the reflection. Having Eric grow the beard and long hair to resemble his had been Mark’s idea. He was also responsible for getting the false ID in the name Richard Kimble. He was a fan of the old TV show the Fugitive and thought it humorous to use the name of the main character. When Eric saw the passport and driver’s license he wasn’t amused, but by then it was too late to make changes. The documents had already been delivered and paid for.
“We’re headed to the hotel now. You can get cleaned up and shave if you want to, but I need you to stay out of sight Eric. The last thing we want is for someone from the movie set to recognize you.” The man admonished his partner in crime.

To go thru all that she has and still believe that some people are trustworthy and to find out they are not was truly the eye-opener TINA needed to see.TINA came into that ring and bitch slapped those three stooges(larry, curly, and moe)like she was MMA. She showed up and showed out,YES!!.Thinking she would go down without a fight was a HUGE mistake .A woman who stood to lose not only her good name and livelihood but a career she neglected her family for in the process is a dangerous adversary if crossed and that is the one crucial element they forgot to take into account. Now on to the next thrilling episode of TINA and the three stooges.GET’EM.Worth the wait and then some.THANKS,ps.

Left a comment Sunday night, don’t know what happened to it. Said it posted, evidently not. Had said that I agree totally with “dunnthat.” Liked the chapter a lot and you know how much I like Tina, especially when she is ticked off. Just glad she was able to keep her cool and scared the hell out of all those a–holes. With her parting shot at them they don’t know what to think now. Hopefully Bettes’ investigator and attorney can find eric and slap them all in jail. Maybe now one of them will slip up and make that one mistake that will catch them all. For some damned reason they don’t think Tina is smart enough to filter the clues. Hope they can put all of them so far back in a cell, daylight will have to be piped to them. The crooked S.O.B.’s. Thanks for the chapter. Waiting not too patiently for the next one.

Sharon, I realize it’s been a couple of years but this story hasn’t been laid to rest yet. I will be back with a conclusion. I just got distracted with another story called Daddy that was on my heart so I had to write it. Thank you for the poke. I will see where I am and revive it soon.

Hi BAT2012, I have been rereading a lot of great fiction about B & T and came across yours. I immediately remembered this one. It’s been 3 almost 4 years since you’ve posted. I got myself all fired up and then was left without closure. Please I need to know how Kate, Eric, Mark, and William get caught, and how Bette, Tina, Alex, and the rest of the family deal with the fallout. How does life get better when they get back to their day to day lives? I am still reading the rest of your work, but would love to see this one come to fruition. Please post soon.
