“T–”
“No Bette. Your self-centeredness may have eclipsed me, but I never challenged it. I submitted to your control at every turn instead of insisting you address your suppressed pain. You may have been driving us toward the unhealthy dynamic that was created, but I was a willing passenger; then I just hopped off the ride instead of helping to steer us in a healthier direction. That wasn’t fair and it wasn’t right… but we can change that now.”
“What are you saying Tina?” Bette asks softly.
“I want to go to therapy together. I know we tried that like 15 years ago, but we weren’t listening then – to the therapist or each other – and we weren’t focused on the real problems. I think we can do better this time and really help us heal together.” Tina gets up and stands between Bette’s legs, gently cradling her face in her hands, her tears falling unabashedly. “I love you Bette; I’ve always loved you. I want to be with you; I want to fight for us. Will you fight alongside me?”
Bette’s tears fall faster as her mega-watt smile appears. “Yes… oh god… YES! I will fight for us; we’ll fight this battle together.” Bette stands from the bed and brings Tina into her arms; both melting into the familiar intimacy. She pulls away just enough to gaze into her favorite hazel orbs before pressing her lips gently but firmly to their long-remembered home. “I love you.” Bette whispers reverently. “I’m not going to let you down this time.” She turns to a smiling Angie. “I’m not going to let either of you down.”
Carrie finds herself walking down the stairs and out the door. She had walked up to Angie’s room in the hopes of helping to smooth things over, but once she heard Tina’s confession, she left defeated. She had long been fighting with Bette’s ghost in her relationship with Tina and knew there was no hope for their future when Tina was set on one with Bette.
Angie jumps up while yelping joyously. “YES! YES! I love you! I love you both!” Bette and Tina embrace Angie in a family hug before the Porter Kennards find themselves in a pile snuggled on the bed – content and grateful for their beautiful reunion.

I certainly hope the L Word writers are reading this!!!!!
Awesome story – so heart wrenching & then so hopeful!!!!
Angie can bring them back together & get Bette to fight for Tina.
Thank you so much for the terrific story!!!!!
We can only hope things on the show turn out like this. Awesome story!
Wonderful! Exactly what I thought about their marriage and reason for divorce.
I like Carrie’s cameo appearance. Come in, say the wrong words and disappear again for good.
We must hope the Writers have the same thoughts in mind!
Enjoyed this so believable storyline and cried all the way through!
Tears of sorrow and tears of joy!
Thank you
SG
We need to print and send to Showtime! If they want Tibette “drama” then they can write about the sessions with Dr Foxworthy!
Or we can write some scenes of creative Tibette slap bit*^ches off off of these two!!!!
Stop tearing apart this family!!! How about A
adding some more children to the Porter-Kennard clan to increase adventure scenarios
DumplinT. I could never understand why B&T saw a MALE psychologist . I felt Dan Foxworthy was useless. Couldn’t B&T find a lesbian psychologist?
It’s a beautiful story, Thank you!
Like others i wish we could see something like that on the screen in s2 Gen. Q.
By the way – i still think that even suggest that Bette could be with them when Tina would tell Angie about her marriage was most stupid Tina’s line in that dinner in Bette’s house in GQ.
I WISH THIS WOULD HAPPEN. ARE YOU READING THIS ILENE? ARE YOU READING THIS MARJA?
I’m very grateful to Elizabeth for writing this story. Thank you for writing it and making me feel good.
Elizabeth is ONE of our site psychoanalysts!!! Dr E for short. She’ll get down to the root of why we’re so keyed up
Absolutely!
Wow!!!!
How wonderful it would be if this happened in Generation Q!
I wish you were the writer for the show !!!
It was so beautiful how Bette explained to Angelica that she was responsible for making their marriage fail!
I had tears in my eyes!
I am so grateful to you for this story, to ease the pain caused by the last episode.
I really hope this will happen in the last episode or in the second season, but it probably won’t. Marja doesn’t care about Tibette and the fans. She only cares about the newbies. Those are her creations, but they are not (yet) able to make the show successful.
Thank you so much for this wonderful story!!!
Wow…this was powerful! Beautifully written. It really grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Thank you for sharing this with us and taking up the challenge…I think you succeeded!! :-)
Can’t they just remake the 107 and add this scene? Thanks for that. This is exactly how I imagined
Welp, no one else needs to participate in this challenge, because you win!
Great storytelling!
Elizabeth, very impressive and to be written so quickly. Definitely gets my vote. Thank you.
This is January 2020….this very well could be the best story of the year…. Wonder dialogue and storyline. I just cannot see Bette and Tina splitting permanently. I just cannot see how they would not find each other in some way or another and this story certainly shows the path. This does not mean their lives will be happily ever after, but it sure gives all of us TiBette fans hope. Bette and Tina love each other and always will. It’s just a matter of creating a relationship in which they can live together.
Wonderful…Wonderful Wonder.
Agree completely with all the other comments! Hope the writers read this wonderful story by Elizabeth (thank you!). It certainly has my vote to win this challenge. ????????
