“But you’ve changed Mom, you have. You’re calmer, and caring, and open…”

Bette smiles endearingly at her daughter. “You’re right Babe – I have changed. Losing your Mom… and then losing Auntie Kit… it’s left me raw, but even with that I haven’t taken care of my baggage. I love Tina; I wish she was coming back to me… I wish she could have found herself in me, but it would be wrong and further prove my selfishness if I fought for her right now Ang. I’ve been a coward – afraid of working through my past hurts – and she deserves better than that. She deserves the best version of me, and I haven’t achieved that. It’s not fair to expect her to wait until I get my shit together. She found herself and fell in love on the way; we need to be happy and support her with this big step.” Bette gently cups Angie’s face in her hands as she gently wipes tears away with her thumbs. “She may not be coming back to me, but she’ll always come home to you. She loves you, my beautiful girl. She always has and she always will. This changes none of that. You are the most important person to her. She never left you Boo – she left me. Her love for you will always endure – always. I fucked up our marriage and, unfortunately, that effected you, but she always felt found in her love for you.”

Tina stands outside the room overwhelmed with Bette’s emotional outpouring to their daughter. Angie allows herself to be pulled into Bette’s arms – finding comfort in her Mother’s embrace as she speaks. “I just wish her love for you was as enduring.”

“It is…” Tina whispers while entering the room; eyes swollen and red from crying. “I…” Tina looks down hoping to compose herself before looking lovingly at her daughter. “I should have fought Angie; I should have fought for Bette, for our marriage… for our family.” Tina wipes her tears before moving to the bed and sitting beside Angie. “I’ve known your Mom for most of my adult life. I know her strengths and her weaknesses. I know the root of her shortcomings and instead of allowing those things to dictate and destroy our relationship, I should have pushed her to address them.”

    1. I certainly hope the L Word writers are reading this!!!!!

Awesome story – so heart wrenching & then so hopeful!!!!

Angie can bring them back together & get Bette to fight for Tina.

Thank you so much for the terrific story!!!!!

    2. Wonderful! Exactly what I thought about their marriage and reason for divorce.

I like Carrie’s cameo appearance. Come in, say the wrong words and disappear again for good.

    3. We must hope the Writers have the same thoughts in mind!

Enjoyed this so believable storyline and cried all the way through!
Tears of sorrow and tears of joy!

      Thank you
      SG

    4. We need to print and send to Showtime! If they want Tibette “drama” then they can write about the sessions with Dr Foxworthy!

Or we can write some scenes of creative Tibette slap bit*^ches off off of these two!!!!

Stop tearing apart this family!!! How about A
adding some more children to the Porter-Kennard clan to increase adventure scenarios

    5. It’s a beautiful story, Thank you!

Like others i wish we could see something like that on the screen in s2 Gen. Q.

By the way – i still think that even suggest that Bette could be with them when Tina would tell Angie about her marriage was most stupid Tina’s line in that dinner in Bette’s house in GQ.

    6. Wow!!!!

How wonderful it would be if this happened in Generation Q!

I wish you were the writer for the show !!!

It was so beautiful how Bette explained to Angelica that she was responsible for making their marriage fail!

I had tears in my eyes!

I am so grateful to you for this story, to ease the pain caused by the last episode.

I really hope this will happen in the last episode or in the second season, but it probably won’t. Marja doesn’t care about Tibette and the fans. She only cares about the newbies. Those are her creations, but they are not (yet) able to make the show successful.

Thank you so much for this wonderful story!!!

    7. Wow…this was powerful! Beautifully written. It really grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Thank you for sharing this with us and taking up the challenge…I think you succeeded!! :-)

    8. This is January 2020….this very well could be the best story of the year…. Wonder dialogue and storyline. I just cannot see Bette and Tina splitting permanently. I just cannot see how they would not find each other in some way or another and this story certainly shows the path. This does not mean their lives will be happily ever after, but it sure gives all of us TiBette fans hope. Bette and Tina love each other and always will. It’s just a matter of creating a relationship in which they can live together.

      Wonderful…Wonderful Wonder.

    9. Agree completely with all the other comments! Hope the writers read this wonderful story by Elizabeth (thank you!). It certainly has my vote to win this challenge. ????????
