Bette: I can’t believe this is happening right now…seriously like what does this mean?

Tina doesn’t answer she just squeezes her eyes shut tight trying her best to hold back the tears threatening to fall.

Bette: After everything we have gone through to adopt this child, she changes her mind without telling us.

Tina: We don’t know if she changed her mind Bette, maybe she missed the bus or something.

Tina tried to convince herself more, as she spoke the words to Bette.

Bette: If that was the case Tina then she would’ve called us but she didn’t. Fuck!

Bette shakes her head still not believing this was happening to them, she put her face in her hands then rubbed her hands in her hair multiple times trying to ease back her anger but it wasn’t working.

Bette: We know she didn’t decided to keep the baby, I mean she practically told us how she wasn’t financial stable enough to afford another child…for crying out loud the girl has two already.

Tina: Maybe it was something we did.

Bette: Or maybe those fucking idiots she calls her parents, gotten into her head after all and she just didn’t have to guts to face us.

They remained quiet for a few seconds as their minds now filled with that horrible experience of meeting Marci’s parents.

Tina: I’ve lost him all over again.

Lost in her thoughts, Tina whispered so softly that Bette couldn’t understand what she was trying to say.

Bette: What did you say?

Bette said annoyed until she saw Tina’s face who was now looking up at Bette for the first time since they’ve sat on the curb with tears running down her cheek. Bette grabbed a hold of Tina’s hand and kissed it lightly, she hated to see Tina cry it always made her feel melancholy.
 
Bette: Aww baby dont cry, we will get through this I promise. We will get back on the waiting list and find another child to be apart of our family.

Bette didn’t know if she was trying to comfort Tina and herself at this point.

Tina: I feel like I’ve lost him all over again Bette.

Tina said looking into Bette eyes as she was rubbing her shoulders, Tina could see the confusion on her face.
