Bette: Baby I don’t understand, lost who again?

Tina: Our son.

Bette frozed in motion as it hit her…this was the son they were suppose to have to make up for losing their own son when Tina miscarried. She remembered how happy they were back in their hotel room after Marci had told them she was having a boy, the way they cuddled and cried in each other’s arms until sleep over took them.

Bette: Tina it breaks my heart that you feel that way and I can’t say I know how painful it feels but…life doesn’t work that way, just because we lose a person in our lives doesn’t mean that someone else is going to come along and feel that void…Baby you didn’t lose our son all over again because Marci’s child was never ours to begin with at least not yet and now probably never will be now, but what you felt living inside your belly was real and although we did lose him physically that doesn’t erase the love and presence we have for him in our hearts.

Tina: I know but I can’t help but feel…

Tina cut her sentence short…to say how she felt out loud only made the pain worse, but Bette was right…it’s not the end of the world, they needed to suck it up and get back on the waiting list and hope next time be the last time.

Tina: It just hurts Bette, so much.

Bette: I know baby but at least we still have Angie right?

Tina nodded as they both smiled at each other with tears in their eyes.

Bette: and she’s our little girl that no one can take away, so what do you say we go home and just enjoy spending time with her and we will deal with all this later.

Tina: Ok

Bette kissed Tina on top of the head and stood up reaching her hand out for Tina to take as she slowly helped her up. They arrived back to the car and was about to pull of when Bette’s phone began ringing. She looked at the caller I’d and saw Marci’s number flashing across the screen, her first mind was to ignore it but she knew they needed answers. She turned the screen so Tina could see who was calling her and to say that Tina was in shock, well that would be an understatement.
