    More time at the lake.

     

    “Oh, Hannah.  What am I gonna do?”  Bette’s voice is filled with sorrow and concern.  Little Hannah seems to sense her distress and leans forward, hugging her.   With one of her hands she pats Bette on her shoulder, as if to say “it’s ok”.

     

    Bette pulls back and looks at her.  “I love you sweetie” she tells Hannah.

     

    Hannah smiles at her.  “I lub you” then she gives Bette a kiss.

     

    Bette pulls her into a hug, then sits her on her lap again.  “So what should I do here?  How do I make Tina understand why I can’t tell her what’s going on?  I love her.  I can’t lose her.”

     

    “T” Hannah says loudly.

     

    “Yeah baby girl.  That’s my T, your Auntie Tina.  The one we’re talking about.”

     

    “T” Hannah says again, this time pointing over Bette’s shoulder.

     

    Bette glances over her shoulder to see Tina standing there, leaning against the door frame.

     

    “Hey you” Bette says.

     

    “Hey yourself” Tina says as she walks over to give Bette a kiss.  “Good morning.”

     

    “How long have you been standing there?” Bette asks, concerned over how much Tina heard.

     

    “A minute or two” Tina says as she picks Hannah up from Bette’s lap.  “Good morning Hannah Grace, how are you?” Tina asks as she spins her around.

     

    “T” Hannah says as she giggles at her.

     

    “I need some coffee and some food, are you two hungry?” Tina asks, looking from Bette to Hannah.

     

    “I already fed Hannah, but I could eat.”

     

    “Then let’s go find you something to eat” Tina says, as she takes Bette’s hand and leads her to the kitchen.

     

     

     

    After hearing noises in the kitchen, Donna and Melissa decide it’s ok to get up.  “Good morning” they say as they enter the kitchen.

     

    “Hey.  Hannah woke up early, so I got her, changed her and fed her.  Hope you don’t mind?” Bette tells them.

     

    “Of course not” Melissa tells her.  “How long have you been awake?”

     

    “Two hours.  I got woken up by my cell and then couldn’t sleep well after that.”

     

    “That sucks.  Don’t they ever leave you alone?”

    10. I was a happy camper when I saw that you had posted. It takes me awhile to read but I did and I very much enjoyed this chapter. Bette and Tina are going to make good parents whether they adopt or have one of their own.
