    Valentine’s Evening Chapter Two

”Yeah he did.  I think there was a little bit of guilt after what I did to Lea’s sculpture last year.”  Bette gave a half smile.  ”But the whole series is amazing and well worth the effort.”  Bette paused, ”Come let me show you.”  Bette smiled as she led Tina around the showroom, pausing at each piece.

Tina was mesmerized by Bette and the stories she told behind the inspiration of each piece.   She was in awe at how Bette answered questions of guests so smoothly and effortlessly all while keeping her attention on Tina. She turned away from the discussion Bette was having with a guest when she heard her name called out by a familiar voice. ”Alice, Nat, how are you,” she said letting go of Bette’s hand to hug her long time friend.

”Pretty amazing, don’t you think,” Alice said as she looked around. Lea is over there, she pointed towards a crowd of people. ”Has Bette shown you yet?” Alice inquired.

Nat hearing the question, slid her arm into Alice’s and said, ”Lets go talk to Shane.”

Bette having heard Alice, turned from her conversation and glared at Alice as Nat turned her away from Tina. I’m gonna kill her Bette thought as she followed Alice with her eyes.

”What is she talking about Babe,” Tina said noticing Bette’s glaring look at Alice walking away.

Bette sighed, ”nothing, come on lets continue looking at the pieces. There is only a couple left.” Bette slid her arm around Tina’s waist and guided her towards another sculpture a few yards away. As Tina bent to look at the piece, Bette signaled for James to block off the area around the last sculpture. She wanted a bit of privacy when showing Tina the sculpture she had commissioned from Lea for this very special Valentine’s.

”I just can’t get over the details of each of these pieces. I remember her work from years ago being good, but I don’t recall it being this amazing.” Tina smiled as she rose up and allowed Bette to guide her towards the next piece.

    1. Wow, I need another box of tissue… that is so sweet, so magnificent, so beautiful and so Bette and Tina…. the gift was not just the remembrance of returning of the earring but the gift of her heart and soul as symbolized in that huge blue diamond. “Blooming Love” what an appropriate title….

This really touched my heart…. thank you….

    2. Martha is so right. Absolutely beautiful and oh so original. I can easily picture this unfolding. I love love love that this work was commissioned by Bette just for Tina. Forever commemorating their love. And a diamond representing the earring? You got some major writing chops to be sure. This is a real keeper. Love the long suffering James as well. Just amazing. Great present to wake up to!

    3. SuperK, so nice to see your name pop up on the site with two great chapters. Well written, sweet, engaging, romantic. It has it all! Love stories that have them happy and in love. Keep writing my friend!
