Previously..
“I love you Tina, I always have and I always will, whatever you decide.” She smiled sadly, wondering whether this would be her last chance to be close to Tina. Had she pushed too hard? Had she fucked it up? Tina hadn’t said yes, but she hadn’t said no either, and the way she moved to link her arm with Bette’s as the board members crowded around to offer their congratulations gave her some hope too.
For her part, Tina was dumbstruck. She knew she and Bette were finally on the same page. Once again, they both wanted the same thing; each other. She hadn’t had a chance to reply to Bette’s heartfelt expression of love before Bette had leapt in to stop her speaking. In retrospect, it was probably a good thing. Tina didn’t really want this conversation to take place in a crowded art gallery. This was between them. She had her final check up with Dr Wilson tomorrow, she would talk to Bette then. For now she just basked in the knowledge that her happiness was just a day away.

The appointment with Dr Wilson wasn’t until 11 o’clock, but early the next morning, Bette was knocking on Tina’s door excitedly.
“Morning Tina, ” she was almost bouncing around, and looked like a kid on Christmas morning. Tina knew Bette loved her, but suspected there was something else that had her grinning like an idiot this morning.
“Bette, you’re a little early you know, ” she joked. “I’m only just up.” She looked over at the clock. 8.05am. For some reason she just couldn’t get moving this morning and was feeling pretty exhausted, possibly due to an attack of insomnia over how she had left things with Bette last night. It had been the early hours of the morning before her busy brain and slowed down and allowed her to sleep.
“I know T, but it’s here – the birthing tank was just delivered and I thought you’d want to come take a look, make sure it’s ok.”
Tina had raised the birthing tank idea with Bette last week. They had planned a home water birth with their first baby, but Tina had not wanted to look at the tank she had bought after the trauma of her miscarriage. Plus the damn thing was enormous. She didn’t know what Bette had done with it, but thankfully one day it had disappeared from the garage.

I wonder from reading the last part if they had gotten back together in the beginning and then went to the hospital would the episode feel different.Great job.I hope you pop up soon with another story.
