    WESTERN SKIES

    Tina presses her lips together.

    Tina – No, I … didn’t mean …

Bette walks toward the door and opens it.

Bette – Didn’t Kit tell you to stay away?!

    Tina – Uh … no …

Bette – Then next time please get invited first?

    Tina – I’m sorry … It’s just that … I lost my horse.

    The brunette squints.

    Bette – You what??

    Tina – I … I lost my horse.

Bette – And how does that happen?

    The producer sighs.

Tina – I saw this cabin and I stopped … and my horse ran away.

Bette – You didn’t tie it?!

The blonde presses her lips together.

Tina – I thought I did but … apparently not strongly enough.

Bette enters the cabin, leaving the door open. Tina stands in the doorway and takes a peek inside, without stepping in. To her left, an open kitchen has a counter with a couple of stools. Beyond the kitchen, there is an open door. To her right, the main room has a couch, a coffee table and a chair in front of a fireplace. Beyond it, a canvas rests on an easel in front of the large window facing the valley.

Tina – I would have walked back but I can’t leave the horse behind. This is why I stayed.

The brunette grabs a pair of binoculars and makes her way to the front window.

Bette – Don’t get into the habit of doing that. You can get shot by approaching the wrong cabin around here.

    She turns around.

Bette – I suggest you make up your mind. Insects may come in.

The blonde steps in and closes the door.

    Tina – Sorry …

Bette looks out the window with the binoculars.

    Tina – Nice cabin!

Bette – You came with Minnie?!

    Tina – Yes!

She joins the brunette by the window.

Tina – Can you see her?

Bette – She is with Charlie.

    The blonde sighs relieved.

Tina – I was so concerned! I didn’t see him!

Bette – She happens to be Charlie’s girlfriend. She knows how to find him.

    Tina chuckles.

Tina – So Charlie attracts the females around here? Like owner like horse …

Bette turns to her with a frown. The blonde looks down.
