”Stephanie?..Please let me explain..Bette said sat up and scooted over wrapping her arms around Stephanie from behind.
”Are you breaking up with me?” Stephanie asked as her voice quivered.
”That is the last thing I want to do but I can’t give you 100 percent of myself right now. I need to get over Tina and-”
”Tina?!..The Tina from the other night? The new production assistant? The one who helped you after you broke down?” Stephanie asked as she tore herself away from Bette and got up off the bed grabbing her robe and putting it on.
”Yes, We had an encounter. I fell instantly for her. She doesn’t feel the same” Bette replied watching Stephanie pace as she collected her thoughts.
Bette remained quiet waiting for Stephanie who had stopped pacing to say something and just stood at the glass windows staring at the waves crashing onto the beach. Stephanie finally turned around and looked at Bette
”Bette? I love you..But I don’t want to be someone’s second choice especially if they are still in love with their first.” Stephanie said as her eyes glistened with tears.
Bette got up wrapped the bed sheet around herself and walked up to Stephanie placing her hands on her arms.
”I love you too. I do. But it’s not fair to you and her being here only is going to make it more difficult” Bette said as her tears flowed not wanting to break this woman’s heart
Stephanie moved her arms out of Bette’s grip
Bette reached out again and grabbed Stephanie by the arm ”Steph I am sorry”
Stephanie looked at Bette her face unreadable
“Me too Bette. Please leave my key on the table”
And without another word Stephanie retreated to the bathroom and shut the door
Bette heard the shower start and sighed. She quickly grabbed her clothes and dressed making sure to leave the key on the table before she walked out. Even though the last thing she wanted to do was break Stephanie’s heart she couldn’t be with her now that Tina was permanently rooted in her life.

Two days later: Rick’s movie premier night
”Tina? Earth to Tina?” Alice called out and snapping her fingers to get Tina’s attention.

Poor Stephanie but i am glad Bette was honest with her and broke it off.
I love Alice in this story and that’s unique because i dislike Alice in general.
Tina made up her mind and went to get what she wanted and that is one Bette Porter! Now make sure she isn’t going to break Bette’s heart again!

Well a double post which really moved things along. Concerned it may be moving too quickly but willing to go along for the ride.
I stand corrected. She surprised me in talking to Stephanie (what a thing to hear the 1st thing in the morning).
Will have to get to know “this” Bette.
WOW! Falling in love so quickly was like a speeding locomotive. Please don’t let Eric, Helena, Jodi, Henry or Candace into their lives. I like stories like this that don’t have long and drawn out slow burns. These two hit the ground running. Thank you
Great story ! Am loving the relationship between Bette and Tina, so early on. Let’s hope they go from strength to strength? Sounds like there’s a lot of love there already and will grow. Love Alice being there, she never seems far from Bette and Tina and always gives the lighter side to a story especially with her interactions with Bette can’t wait to read more , stay safe
