GREY’S ANATOMY

Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) from Grey’s Anatomy were on everyone’s radar during the show’s last season. To be perfectly honest, I was only watching show sporadically because it turned into some sort of soap opera, in my opinion. Callie/Arizona’s relationship went through sickness and health, murder and mayhem, car accident and near-death experience, family issues and baby discussions, pregnancy and premature baby birth, just to name a few.

They split up, reunited after a mass murder in the hospital, broke up again when Arizona went to Africa (while Jessica Capshaw was on maternity leave) and finally, reunited again in the last season that after lots of drama resulted in couple’s marriage. The episode “White Wedding” made it look like a royal weeding with both brides dressed in white, married while surrounded by gazillions of pink and white flowers.

Writer of the wedding episode, Stacy McKee said that after all the drama they “wanted to infuse a little magic, happy and romance” into the series. Even the parents of both brides were present, even though the audience had witnessed Callie’s father (Hector Elizondo) struggling with his daughter’s sexuality throughout the earlier seasons.
