    “And I know that your Mom and Grandmother and everyone Is coming to pick you up on Saturday. But I was wondering, do you have any time to get together with me on Friday? I’d like to drive up and take you guys out to dinner. I want to show Tina that not all Porters are big-headed bigots like Daddy. I want to spend a little time with you guys before you head off into the world, ” said Kit.

     

    Bette’s eyes were wide with eagerness. Tears misted as she spoke. “That would be great, Kit. Tina and I would love it. 

     

    Kit breathed a short sigh of relief. “Wonderful. I’ll give you a call later on this week and we’ll settle on a time. Is that cool?”

     

    “Very cool. Thanks again.”

     

    “You are more than welcome. See you soon,”, Kit replied.

     

    When their call ended, Bette looked over at the newly framed photo of Kit she had on her desk. She smiled to herself and rushed to call Tina and tell her the good news.

    The Roommates – 2nd Dimension: Chapter 66

     

    Kit Porter chewed nervously on her lower lip before taking another sip of ice water to calm her nerves. Something about meeting with Bette always made her a little edgy. She straightened the print scarf tied around her neck one last time and exhaled deeply. Kit was amazed she’d even been able to find this place. Bette had given her directions to Tengu, their local sushi and Asian cuisine hangout and now Kit sat in the patio and looked around at the modern Asian-influenced design. It was a really cute little spot and her eyes couldn’t help but wander over to the small sound stage, her mind flirting with the idea of a comeback album.

     

    “Yeah right,” she said aloud to herself.

     

    It wasn’t long before her spunky little sister and her blonde counterpart emerged. Everyone was all smiles and warm hugs were shared before the three women took their seats.

     

    “It’s so good to see you girls. It really warms my heart to see you together,” said Kit. The warm hugs and smiles had eased her nerves. Now she was more like herself: headstrong and welcoming.

Hate to see that this part of their life is ending because it started it all for me, but so please to see a new beginning is coming and is so looking forward to reading the it.     10. I am saddened that they have to seperate even if it is for the summer. Maybe Tina can visit Bette. I did like Aunt Karen and hope that she can be there for Bette. I worry a bit about Tina because she has nobody to talk to about Bette. Please don’t keep our girls seperated tooo long.

    11. Hey MTS! I love this story and your writing is excellent. Am I nuts, or did ch 65 end differently than the start of ch 66 shows under “previously”. I show the last sentence of ch 65 being “And most importantly, why was Eric calling all of a sudden?” but your “previously” shows it as “When their call ended, Bette looked over at the newly framed photo of Kit she had on her desk. She smiled to herself and rushed to call Tina and tell her the good news.” Am I missing something?
